It’s been done many times over. The 911 is the benchmark. What most don’t get is that most Porsche buyers are not buying it because of 0-60 time.
I like the commercial with the CT drag-racing a 911, though. Shows that Tesla has a good understanding that the Porsche 911 is the most iconic car in history. A very wise choice for them to make in order to help them sell more Teslas. Smart move, Tesla. Smart move.
So now, when the Teslerati brag about CT sales, we'll all know it's because they leveraged the Porsche 911 brand.
Speaking for 911 owners everywhere, we truly appreciate the compliment.
That’s correct. Which is why the GT3, which is roughly a half second faster to 60 when ordered with the PDK (automatic), is predominately ordered with the slower manual instead. What most don’t get is that most Porsche buyers are not buying it because of 0-60 time.
Well that certainly puts a bit of a ding in the narrative that EVs are more reliable. However, as the article points out, as manufacturers gain experience with building EVs, and as they recoup their initial investments and start seeing profits from the sale of EVs, reliability should improve quite a bit.
Not too mentioned that 0-60 time is not how you market truck guys. That’s correct. Which is why the GT3, which is roughly a half second faster to 60 when ordered with the PDK (automatic), is predominately ordered with the slower manual instead.

When you only have 10 to sell, guess it works.Well, maybe posers who own an F-150 Raptor.
True, for the most part. But I don’t think the CT will appeal to truck people much. I think it will appeal to attention seekers, and to people who just like to be different. Not too mentioned that 0-60 time is not how you market truck guys.
I agree with you that it can be marketed as G wagon or Hummer IF Tesla only sells Cyberbeast model. But the lower price option and it’s interior finishes will make it less appealing to that crowd.True, for the most part. But I don’t think the CT will appeal to truck people much. And, although I find it hard to believe, I suppose there will be some who just like how it looks. But I have to believe that if for no other reason than some women have found me attractive enough to partner up with. Which proves that some people can find even the ugliest of things attractive.
Ain’t no accounting for taste.
Interiors can be ripped out and replaced. You can't fix the ugly exterior though.I agree with you that it can be marketed as G wagon or Hummer IF Tesla only sells Cyberbeast model. But the lower price option and it’s interior finishes will make it less appealing to that crowd.
But like Mildon’s said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Sometimes, different and distinct is beautiful.Interiors can be ripped out and replaced. You can't fix the ugly exterior though.
Instead of crying to the president, they should have written a letter to their suppliers urging them to make a better product.Pretty much what I'd expect the auto dealers to write. EVs represent an existential threat to their business model (and a corresponding boon for consumers).
Skip the cool demos, and just have Elon read from the website. Gotcha. Sounds exciting.Fkn Elon. People sit through that stupid "delivery event" and the jackass doesn't even bother detailing most of the info they cared about to begin with.
I hope the truck drove over his foot on the way out.

Missed the demo. Did they shoot at the car with a machine gun or an arrow? How about the glass? Kind of weird he didn’t mention price.Skip the cool demos, and just have Elon read from the website. Gotcha. Sounds exciting.

Love truck reviews done on a race track. You can use that gif for 0-60 time.
What is this "purported support of white supremacy" by Musk and when did he "shout to the world" he did 'it'?I had the exact same question as you. How does anybody actually know how many people cancelled subscriptions?
In any event, and however many people it might be, and whatever the real reason they're doing it might be, cancelling a streaming service (or whatever), because that service objects to Musk's purported support of white supremacy, and then shouting to the world that you did it, is like hanging a neon sign over your social media account that reads "IWHITE SUPREMACISTS". Brilliant!
Can't make this stuff up. Hilariously self-destructive. Darwinism finds a way.
Well, no, you're correct - that wouldn't be exciting.Skip the cool demos, and just have Elon read from the website. Gotcha. Sounds exciting.
While towing one. Also wondering why it didn’t race the 911 on maneuverability?
I suspect that will be the majority opinion. This being a football forum, I'll suggest the nickname "flying wedge" for the CT.The CT just looks ugly. if I saw one in my neighborhood, it would be head turning but for the wrong reasons.

Don't ask me. I DGAF and I'm not cancelling anything. What is this "purported support of white supremacy" by Musk and when did he "shout to the world" he did 'it'?

You appear confused. I am asking what is the "purported white supremacy" by Musk that you assume justifies the advertising boycott on Xtwitter. And how do you know the people you call "shouters" are outraged at the companies for what you say they are?Don't ask me. I DGAF and I'm not cancelling anything.
Ya gotta ask the people who are cancelling the various services from organizations (Disney, etc.) that have ceased advertising on Xwitter due to their not wishing to be associated with Musk's purported support of white supremacy on Xwitter.
Also, the "shouters" I was talking about are the aforementioned "cancellers" who are apparently besides themselves with outrage that companies might speak out against white supremacy, bigotry and antisemitism. What monsters. What an evil cause.![]()

Cybertruck has steer by wire and 4 wheel steering. Maybe spend less time hating and more time learning about the tech. Also wondering why it didn’t race the 911 on maneuverability?
the tech is off the charts, impressive enough for even the E haters (raises hand) to take a look. How could you not? Elon is our generations' PackardCybertruck has steer by wire and 4 wheel steering. Maybe spend less time hating and more time learning about the tech.
