I didn’t. Actually, I don’t recall seeing the cost for any of it, the vehicle or options or anything else.
I did see one or two people here complain about the price though, I think. Given Tesla’s recent behavior w/regard to pricing, I would not buy any of their cars right now. Seems highly likely there will be price cuts coming.
And I think it’s highly likely the CT will have more than its fair share of reliability issues. If I wanted one, I’d wait for a model refresh.
That's not terrible for someone who can fork over $100K for the vehicle. But to most people that is ridiculous.
That actually sounds pretty reasonable. Batteries are expensive. I’m curious about how good the warranty for it is.
No one who can afford it needs the extra pack. They are not towing anything. Plus I don’t think it’ll be easy to get it in and out of the truck.
Meh. I’ve never been interested in flipping stuff like that. Never had that “make a quick buck” mentality. I just don’t care about money that much. I could flip my GT3 and make a quick 30-40K. But I want the car, not the money.
The dealership that sold me the GT3 back in late May was adamant that I not resell the car within a 12 month period. They were very serious about this, was a big issue for them. They were even thinking about having their GT car buyers sign a 12 month no-money lien that would let the dealership prevent a sale in that period (although that never materialized).

It’s not clear how long it’ll be possible to flip a CT. Initially, people won’t know what sorts of problems there are with it. But I suspect this first generation will have a lot of issues. And if so, once that gets out, it’ll drive down the prices. Also, once Teslaramps up production, that’ll drive down prices.
So I’m guessing that, if one isn’t already in line to get one in the first year or so, flipping won’t be profitable. People can just buy one new.
this is impressive. I think tires were a big factor here and all seasons are practical but can’t perform like off-road tires. I love the look but hate the sound at high speed.
The early production runs will probably have collector value though no? Especially year 1. Especially if, as expected, there won't be many produced in year 1.

Yes. Always thought the Hummer was a stupid vehicle. Same so with the Hummer EV. Seems they will not be delivered to 2024.
But with battery powered vehicles, "long range" and performance seem to go against basic EV ethos. Wasting battery and materials just for a wow factor. I could see if the long range was needed for a utility vehicle for emergency services or military, then a larger battery pack is in order. Or perhaps for a work truck where a service worker needs to get to a distant location. But in that case, why not just use an ICE vehicle?
I've actually seen an EV Hummer. I think there were 900 delivered as of the 3rd qtr, so it's definitely still pretty rare.

It’s actually a very capable off-roader. But not going to beat a 911 in a 0-60.

I saw one a while ago, i think last winter, one time. Maybe the dude works for GM. It was bad ***, big and with lots of running lights, unique on the road.

But that’s very different from quickly flipping one for profit. That seems like it’s based on limited supply and unfulfillable demand. Which is where we will have to wait and see how things go. Initially, Tesla is apparently under-producing the CT which will create an initial profitable secondary market.
But it’s a little farther down the road, after the initial marketing buzz wears off and the reality of owning the vehicle sets in, when we‘ll see if excess demand continues. Also depends on how many Tesla decides to build.
Was chatting about that with a friend last night. IMO, yes, pretty much any expensive car is wasteful and gluttonous. So is eating filet mignon when cheap London Broil serves the same dietary need.
Ya, anything besides the most utilitarian of vehicles is "wasteful". Or hopping in the car when you could walk or take a bike. Watching TV when you could just read a book. Taking cold showers instead of hot.
Well this flew of the point as usual. Let's stick to EVs and their purported purpose-to save the planet. Maybe they should be more utilitarian. That was the point. I have a 1967 Mustang V8 convertible and I don't have one shred of guilt owning or driving it.
