My parents are looking to buy a new CRV. Every dealer has told them...MSRP plus 15%. Take it or leave it.
Was looking to lease a VW suv for my wife. Their offer was $250/month over her current car. I pointed that out. The salesmen shrugged his shoulders and that was that.

Disagree from my end. If there was somewhere I was disingenuous I'd like to know about it.
But to your point, there are indeed a few basement dwelling incels that take personal offense to the success of others.
Hey now. I'm a second floor home office dwelling incel, at the moment, dammit. Details matter! 🙂

Oh, and is disagreeing from your end the same as talking out your ***? 😉

Tell them to look at Mazda or Subaru. Two Mazda dealers in Monmouth had no markup over MSPRP, but one in Ocean County was $1500 over MSRP. Heard the same about Subaru. Honda quality is declining.

Back to EVs--anybody talk to a Cadillac dealer about when the Lyriq will actually be available?
Looks nice.

Very little info available. And very reticent to contact a dealer. Leaving your contact info with a car dealer is like getting a bad case a crabs. The more you scratch, the more they bother you. Still getting calls and texts from 3 weeks ago after asking them to stop calling and texting and that we bought a car already. I have no experience with crabs, but just relating what I have heard about them. 🦀🦀

EDIT- while it does not show up when you click the link that is provided. A search revealed this, if it is correct:
"We are currently only accepting reservations for the 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ Debut Edition, which is equipped with Rear-Wheel Drive. Production of the 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ equipped with Performance All-Wheel Drive will begin in late 2022, with availability starting early 2023."

I had a brief encounter with crabs in college. You accurately portrayed the itchy-scratchy thing. 😀

You may like the Hummer EV that does the crab walk?
If I had unlimited vehicle funds, I actually might get a Hummer EV just for the sheer stupidity of the thing. It would help bolster my already widespread reputation for overcompensation for my huge number of obvious inferiorities.

But I'm pretty sure my kids, should I get one, would kill me and stuff me in my 7 foot chest freezer (speaking of overcompensating) before I go and spend their entire inheritance on such toys. The little brats.

Love it when people defend billionaires like they need your help. LOL. I love that people bring up his $11 billion tax bill in 2021 but doesn’t mention he only paid $455 million between 2014 - 2018. I could’ve retired by now if i can get that tax rate.
I'll take a wild guess that you paid less than 1% of the taxes Musk did from 2014-2018 and created less than 1% of the jobs he did. Your envy is showing.

Yes, but I paid a higher tax rate than him. I’ve stated that I’m very jealous. I should’ve said I’m “green” with envy. I only wish I had to pay 1% of the $11 billion he paid. That would mean I’m making 9 figures.

The one thing that really stood out to me is the curb weight. It's a tank. 1,600 lbs heavier than a rear wheel drive Model Y.

Cadillac Lyriq Debut Edition specs (preliminary):

  • about 300 miles (483 km) of range, "GM estimated"
  • 100.4 kWh battery
    12 modules
Ultium Cells (GM-LG Chem joint venture)
NCMA (nickel-cobalt-manganese-aluminum) chemistry, flat pouch cells
  • rear-wheel drive
Permanent magnet, bar wound electric motor
  • system output of 255 kW (340 hp) and 440 Nm of torque
  • AC charging up to 19.2 kW (240 V, 80 A)
expected to add up to 52 miles (84 km) of range in about 1 hour
  • DC fast charging up to 190 kW
expected to add up to 76 miles (122 km) of range in about 10 minutes and up to 195 miles (314 km) of range in 30 minutes
  • Base Curb Weight (Min): 2545 kg/5610 lbs
  • Passenger Volume (cu. ft. / L): 105 / 2976
  • Cargo Volume (cu. ft. / L) ^: 28.0 / 793 (behind rear seat) and 60.8 / 1723 (rear seat folded)

I don't know where the WSJ is getting their #s, but every Wall St consensus I read was 309k. 310k is a beat despite a lot of headwinds. This was an excellent quarter. Everywhere else in the auto industry sales are declining significantly. ICE is dying a slow death.

Now, it gets fun. Shanghai expansion project will finish this month, 4680 cell production ramp, long term mining contracts secured, Giga Berlin and Austin both starting production.
