Under agreement, they were supposed to make these charging stations available to non-EVs. However, so far, they have offered very few, and the ones that they have offered are in remote areas, and they have made it difficult for non-Teslas to charge with the cord length configuration. Are they going to not be dicks about it, or continue to make it difficult for non-Teslas?

I pushed some auto-reflex buttons of a few posters here regarding Ford. I personally love the Mach-E and the Lightning, but Ford just isn't making much of dent as a percentage of Ford total sales or as a percent of total EV sales. Maybe they get their battery issues sorted soon and overtake GM to regain their distant #2 spot in EV sales.

I was ready to groan at yet another EV charging horror story, but the article was well-written - a good read. Thanks for posting that.

I'm neutral on Tesla, maybe even slightly positive. IIRC, Tesla got a nice chunk of change for "opening up" their charging stations.

The part about the charging rate for the Hyundai and other brands is not something they can (and maybe should) address. But the number of stations and the cord length and configuration should be addressed if they are to abide by their agreement. Does anyone have a link on how soon more stations will become available?

I do not have the info, but also wish the charging cable was longer - even by just a foot or two.

Sorry, Bac but there already is a ban in NYC that begins either this Dec or Jan.
It's not so much the gas stoves. Both the NYS & NYC bans are on gas line hookup to new construction buildings less than 7 stories high. That means that gas furnaces and generators will not be able to be installed, since there is no gas going into the building.
Also heard there may be a 17% increase on natgas charges coming up.

I want to like that site because they have some interesting stories, but their articles are quite sloppy.

They cite the new supposed electric sedan product interchangeably with last year's EQXX concept, citing the latter's specs and features with no such info for the actual production car, despite the headline. They throw the actual car the whole thing is supposed to be about in at the end ...with no info at all. Doesn't say where the "announcement" came from, either.

Feels like bad AI (or ESL) text.

The EQXX has actually done close to 750 miles in testing, though.

Mercedes seems to be eyeing the range leader title hard.

No, it is about haughty, self-important aholes (many who have the money to buy Tesla's) not giving af about others or common courtesy. Their mindset is me first and f everyone else I get mine and f you. The dickwad shooter would have used another form of violence to get his way.

I had someone try RIPPING THE PLUG from my car, because I was parked sideways across 3 chargers while towing - and they were perfectly able to plug in b/c there were 12 OPEN STALLS at this location! Some people just aren't able to live in polite society.


AND LOL- we have lost our ability to interact and be polite--it's Elon's fault for not providing software on how to be a decent human?

No, but we need it to know who is next. It's not necessarily easy when people pull into a space to wait for an open charging spot to know whose turn is next. If somebody takes my turn, I might be upset and I won't start a fight, but I'd rather have the app or car tell me when a charger is free and reserve that number for me, with a time limit to get there.

Yes. There are people who will disregard the queue, jump into a spot before the next in line has a chance, then it's only by their generosity or sense of shame that will allow fairness to prevail. As the system works now, if they refuse to capitulate, only intimidation or violence can force them to abide by the rules.

There is a way that a controlling program could avoid the situation. Software based queuing could force them to either move to allow the rightful Tesla Customer to charge, or else the charger won't start a session.

I'm sure there are bull headed people who would still refuse to move, continuing to block the stall. Tesla could disincentivize that behaviour by charging them idle fees and cutting them off from SuperCharging for a certain period, then permanently banning them for repeated infractions.

I feared violence would eventually happen because I've seen jerks with a sense of privilege refuse to play by the rules. I've seen cheated people at SuperChargers get REALLY mad. It's a helpless feeling.

It's fitting that Fisker has called their first release The Ocean. This company has pledged "an ocean" of promises for years. Still waiting for them to fulfill one. Lots of reasons battery swaps aren't happening already discussed in this thread if you want to search.
Gasp. Can you imagine? A company hyping stuff up for years before actually producing something? No other company but Fisker would ever do such a thing (Cybertruck, Roadster 2.0).
