One of my favorite parts of this thread was watching Tuco provide supporting evidence to Kilgore about late night TV and Kilgore not getting it.... and fighting windmills.
Anyway - Tuco, I hear you that Gutfeld would presumably get the entire conservative audience while the other 3 split the liberal crowd. However.... Gutfeld often beats the 3 shows and their
combined ratings:
Gutfeld! frequently dominates in total viewers, often surpassing the
combined ratings of major broadcast competitors like
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,
Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. By early 2025,
Gutfeld! regularly averaged over 3 million viewers, often beating the competition in both total viewers and the crucial 25-54 age demographic, making it a consistent leader in late-night, according to TV Insider.
Not to mention - it doesn't look like the 4 shows are splitting a 50-50 conservative - liberal crowd:
Based on 2025 data studies indicate a heavy skew towards liberal viewers, with Democrats and liberals being significantly more likely to watch late-night television than Republicans or independents. A September 2025
AP-NORC poll found that roughly one-third of Democrats regularly watch all or most of a late-night TV show monthly, compared to only about 2 in 10 Republicans or independents.
In other words - Gutfeld is dominating what is likely a heavy liberal audience late night. And it's because the 3 network shows are not funny. They are bitter, angry and extremely partisan (even the CBS lawyers are reeling in Cobert now).
