OK. So, the ole Devil asked a question a few months back about the pack's favorite place to get a quiet bite to eat when you are on your own. Out of that came me finding Sacred Ground. Thank you Maroon Eagle, it is amazing. And I have been back to it several times since. So, once again, I humbly throw myself on the advice of the pack. My wife and I are tired of eating in the same five places. Fratesi, Gibbes, Cassadores, Kiefers, or Mudbugs, when in season, are our go-to places. Where are some places you can get a good large dinner family style, and booze is not something that matters? We are non-drinkers. We have a three-year-old hell spawn that is mostly good to take anywhere

Italian - Amerigo Flowood or Ridgeland, I haven't tried the Fondren location, Cerami's in Flowood, Bravo
Steak - Ely's, Koestler Prime, Shapley's
Seafood/Fish - Caet
Pizza - Aplos, Sal & Mookies
Manship has a diverse menu
I’ve been to Amerigo in Fondren a few times and like it a lot.

I’ve been wanting to go to Cerami’s but haven’t. The main reason is that I rarely go that far up Flowood and when I do I usually go further to Cypress Point.

Backwater Grill in Brandon (spillway road) is supposed to be great

Bruh Fratesi suuuuuuuuucks. That heartburn will stick with you for a week.

I think they had a divorce or something over the past 5 years, but it has gone way downhill.

But my advice would be Aplos. It's just really hard to go wrong with that place, at either location.

The salad is good, but the other dishes are pretty cream and cheese heavy. Not exactly true 'Italian' but fits right in Skankin Rankin.
That’s my understanding…

Fred & I have mutual friends. I’ve recently become acquainted with him & like him which is another reason I want to try out the place sometime…

Thanks for the advice. Will agree to disagree on Frastesi’s.

I'm more interested in ambiance and party atmosphere than the food (kids are out of the house), may I submit: Sunset Grill, Shuckers and the Pelican? We are trying Backwater Bayou tomorrow (it's near my house), I would also suggest Kenova (Flowood), but absolutely no atmosphere.

There's absolutely no good pizza in the metro (I'm a NY style fan).

Team 10 just opened off Old Brandon Road near the airport. Kind of a diner with a 90’s feel to it. Pretty broad menu, good steaks. I actually liked it there a lot. They have displays on the walls of 90’s memorabilia and they bring you your check in a Blockbuster rental case.

I am also interested in trying Backwater. That location has a lot of potential.

Not a fan of Eats. Primos & Burgers Blues & BBQ are best breakfast places in Madison. Strawberry Cafe is awesome for brunch.

Amore on Old Fannin was pretty good Italian. Really tight in there though. Cerami’s was ok but nowhere near as good as Amerigo’s or Amore. Always had a good meal at Aplos. Pizzas are really good there and fairly priced. Trace Grill if you want a good blue plate. Sal and Mookies for pizza (they have a good burger too).

Me and Mrs. Devil tried Amore. The location is a little weird, but the food was good.

Another vote for:

Two Rivers in Canton (steaks, redfish, seafood is great)

Local 463 (redfish sandwich at lunch, steaks are very good as well)

I’ll admit Eats is not on par with some of the other places mentioned, but they do have ice cream in the same building for kids in tow and it’s won’t break the bank…plus the adults can get a Bloody Mary
