I watched that last week. My wife got up and left the room. We knew about half the people who died. We were in Smithville that night helping with the cleanup The cleanup command center was set up in the Piggly Wiggly parking lot and late that night they cleared the highway enough to get some trucks in and a refrigerated truck pulls in the parking lot. She’s like, why did they let that in here in the way and somebody said, “ That’s for the bodies”.
I watched that the day it came out. What was strange was hearing people's names I'd listened to my whole life about in the middle of that storm damage. Every time I go home, I get to hear another story from someone I grew up with about that day. I still don't know how my 84-year-old mother deals with the PTSD every time it thunders.
