I've got 2 very close relatives going through the "long goodbye" now. It's truly a terrible thing to experience. They are there, but they're not. Condolences to the family of Guy Morris.

Yeah, his family's issue now is to deal with this situation in a personal way. That is how my family dealt with my mother when she had to go to a nursing home. Her 3 years there were not pleasant and my dad did not deal with this well at all but, at the end of the day, proper nursing home care is essential to the patient's care. My dad had been her caregiver but it was literally killing him both physically and emotionally. My thoughts go out to those going thru this debilitating disease.

As like others I am having to deal with this with my mom who is in an assisted living facility with memory care. Best wishes and prayers to the Morriss family and anyone who has to deal with this frustrating disease.
