I'm bringing my broom in from the patio for tomorrow's game.
So far. This World Series has been anticlimactic to say the least.
One of the most disappointing ones I can remember. This World Series has been anticlimactic to say the least.
Utterly fascinating. So glad you shared. I’m submitting your list to the Library of Congress for its digital archive of the most significant literary works in our nation’s history. Not that anyone cares, but some of my favorites WS from memory in no particular order:
2016: Cubs - Indians - I'm biased, but a dramatic series nonetheless.
1986: Mets-Red Sox
The previous three Yankees-Dodgers series, not this one.
1979: Pirates - Orioles
1985: Cardinals - Royals
1987: Cardinals - Twins
1991: Twins - Braves (Jack Morris game, which we will likely never see again).
1993: Phillies - Blue Jays
1975: Reds - Red Sox (don't remember too much of this one, but everyone says it was great, especially Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting).
1996: Yankees - Braves
Glad you’re impressed and took the time to read it. Do you work at being a dick or does it just come naturally to you?Utterly fascinating. So glad you shared. I’m submitting your list to the Library of Congress for its digital archive of the most significant literary works in our nation’s history.
The problem with the A’s back then was those teams were so good that they were expected to win each year. To me, their loss to the Reds was just as shocking because of how it went down.As a long-suffering ex-A’s fan, I’d like to thanks this year’s WS for finally topping the horror of Kirk Gibson.

2000: Yankees over Mets 4-1 is my favorite. Not that anyone cares, but some of my favorites WS from memory in no particular order:

Okay, the OP has been vindicated now. I think we have to separate epic play vs. good series. This was not a good series even though we experienced an epic play.Anti climatic? Walk off grand slam in game 1…game 2 comes down to last batter…a split in game 3 and 4..
Weird post
This was an embarrassing World Series for the AL. It showed how there were at least 5 NL teams better than anything the AL had. Even with a gift wrapped trip to the Fall Classic, playing NONE of their biggest obstacles, The Varsity **** the bed. Waited 15 years for this 5 game debacle. Love it. The Dodgers celebrate on Yanks home turf, Mr. May .184, but stellar defense.Pissed away another gem from Cole, set new records from opposing Freeman hitting HR's in 4 straight games and set a record for blowing the biggest lead in an elimination WS game and it will be remembered as the worst fielding inning in World Series history.Classic Series, yeah for all the wrong reasons.Okay, the OP has been vindicated now. I think we have to separate epic play vs. good series. This was not a good series even though we experienced an epic play.
No chance. The Phillies pounded the Dodgers this season, winning 5 of 6 with 4 blowouts. If the Mets didn't throw that last game vs the Braves to avoid the Padres, the Dodgers may not have made it to the Series.
Man, you are really reaching. The Phillies pounded the Dodgers this season, winning 5 of 6 with 4 blowouts. If the Mets didn't throw that last game vs the Braves to avoid the Padres, the Dodgers may not have made it to the Series.
and if Rutgers played Shippensburg, Vermont Tech, Niagara and the Merchant Marine Academy the last 4 games they’d probably have 6 or 7 wins at this juncture, so what’s your point ?The Phillies pounded the Dodgers this season, winning 5 of 6 with 4 blowouts. If the Mets didn't throw that last game vs the Braves to avoid the Padres, the Dodgers may not have made it to the Series.
