How sturdy are these cameras? I duck hunt and would like to strap one to my barrel or forearm of my benelli. Didn't know if it could take the recoil.

I use one on my drone. The case that comes with them is incredibly strong. I think it will work great for videoing your duck hunt.

Our company has a couple that have taken incredible abuse. Here's one..

...that fell out of a plane and landed in a pig pen.

And let me add... the GoPro shoots at a really wide angle so unless you're shooting ducks at close range they're going to look like specks in the frame. You can get a zoom lens adapter pretty cheap but I don't have any experience with them.

I've used a lot of POV cameras on guns and quite frankly, they all suck for this purpose. They are great for videoing back at the shooter, but suck for seeing the critter die. If it's over 15 yards away, it looks like a speck of dirt falling from the sky anyway. And because of the gopro's shape, its the worst for mounting on a gun. The tube shaped cameras (like a contour) are easier to mount and are more stable on a gun. Also, when the gun goes off, it looks like an earthquake just happened and sometimes you don't a clean view of the impact. IMO the best hunting situation to use a POV camera is for videoing your reaction or on your bow stabilizer if you are shooting does at close range.

I've seen some duck hunting videos shot with them and agree with what you say. But I have been thinking of getting one for turkey hunting. From the videos I find on the web, they seem well suited for capturing a turkey hunt.

I've used it for turkey too. Same problem. Shooting at 720p and not 1080i/p helps. The 1080 is simply too wide making the subject even smaller. I wish someone would make one with a zoom lens you could screw on. A fixed 4x zoom would help a lot.
