Could be really, really good tonight. There's 3 really cool things I think could happen but I guess we'll all find out in a few hours. Anxious to see if they will show the Nights King or anything with white walkers. They teased us one episode and that's been all we've seen.

Didn't realize that tonight was the finale. Sweet, I can cancel HBO tomorrow...

They should cover all the big wtf moments

At the end of the 3rd book. It would have to be a pretty fast paced episode to cover it all but they should be able to pull it off. The trailer leads me to think they'll squeeze it all in, and if so, could be one of the most shocking hours of TV ever. A bonus would be if they included the epilogue / Merret Frey chapter of the third book, got my fingers crossed to see that.

Here it is. Ready to find out if Tywin really ***** gold.
Eta: guess we'll never know. And man the bran storyline has really jumped ahead of everything. I hope they don't start have to end up using info that's not yet in the books while the rest of the show is still coming from them. I know it will eventually happen, I just hope it's fluid and not taking from both past and future titles.

After they covered everything else, I was sure it'd be in there. When they showed [redacted] by the river for the last scene I was sure it was gonna be it.

The fade to black after saltpans

Was just long enough to make me think they'd cut to the old gal. I started checking time and thought we could fit it in before the time slot ended. When the credits rolled I was pissed.

Indeed

The pause before credits started rolling had me certain it was gonna happen. All in all, I'm satisfied with only some major exceptions:
  • Lady Stonheart not getting revealed.
  • Tyrion and Jaime post jailbreak. In the book they part on bitter terms because Jaime reveals that Tyrion's first wife was no ***** and that's what motivates Tyrion to go kill Tywin. They've pretty much removed Tysha from the story.

David Benioff the co-creator tweeted that LSH was planned for the finale but they couldn't justify paying her salary for a 5 second teaser and all the cgi was used on dragons. Thanks Danny.

Was hoping for LSH also. My problem with the breakout and assassination scene was that it actually felt kind of rushed. I mean, we've seen nothing of Tyrion for almost two whole episodes then we jump back real quick, Jaime comes in and says "time to go", Tyrion kills who he needs to kill hops in a crate on a ship and then back to Arya Stark. There was no build up or sense of danger in Tyrion's impending doom or Jaime's rescue. Seemed like the producers thought "well, we had better do this now". Honestly, they could have covered the reappearance of Jaqen for Arya (which would have been epic) and then closed with LSH. Saved the rescue/assassination till next season for the opening episode and devote an ENTIRE episode to it so it could feel developed. WOuld have been a great cliffhanger and hook for season 4.

Just my 2 cents...but I'm not a movie/show producer.

No kidding. The woman did 3 seasons and will be doing several more. She couldn't do a one day shoot for free? I hope jack slits her throat.

that makes zero sense. they can't contract her for it from the beginning? they really signed her for a set number of seasons and have to renegotiate for later ones that they knew they would need her for? jeez, take a field trip to Marvel and ask how to write a contract already.

salary my @ss. they just blew the finale like they did with Season 2. i'm done caring about the show that much anymore, they nail the easy scenes but have no idea how to carry the narrative that makes the scenes make sense. and there are very few easy scenes left, books 4 and 5 are almost all narrative.

they lost me at "a thousand eyes and one", when it was very clearly a thousand eyes and TWO. what, they couldn't afford an eyepatch because of CGI budget?
