I truly can't stand the sand sneks.

Poorly written and acted. Hope they get almost no more screen time, and then die.

Love the show but hate the way the plot was written. Robb Stark was still the best. That Fat Bastard George R. R. Martin ruined it when he wrote the red wedding. Game of Thrones kills all the good characters and leaves 2 good characters amongst a pile of ****. Sansa and Arya are meh. Bran is meh. Jon Snow is awesome. Dany is hot but that's about it. Tyrion is awesome. The rest are just big piles of ****. Anything that has Lannister or a Lion on it sucks. Does anyone really give a damn about the Greyjoys doing anything? They are like the Junior Varsity in every aspect. Littlefinger sucks and should have died years ago. Varys? Really... Smh 🤦*♂️

Why they chose them and not Arianne is beyond me.

And let them "beat" Doran? That was ridiculous. Same with Ramsey "beating" Roose. I've found a lot of what they've gone off book for to be really cool to watch but not make much sense. But the book universe has gotten so big and played so "common sense" that I'm not sure how George can bring it all back together with the same touch in two more books.

I think that's what delaying the books. I think he doesn't like that everyone has figured out his story and he is tryin to change it as he writes

So you wish it was more generic storytelling basically....

Generic... good... whatever. There is nothing generic about killing the main character of the show off in season 1. I'm not debating that. The show has Great characters with a **** plot. There is being original and not having the perceived "good guy" (Starks) always win and then there is what Martin did to the Starks. Having them unnecessarily getting repeatedly 17ed over just for the sake of being different or original.

If you say so... The characters made mistakes and the penalties from those mistakes followed logically. That's what makes the story so enthralling. People don't win just because they were a "good guy". If you wanted LOTR, should have just read LOTR.

I will say the "plot" of the show has suffered greatly since they started to go off book. Season 5 and season 6 neither were the masterpieces of the earlier seasons. In season 5 everything went bad illogically. In season 6 everything went well illogically. Season 7 just by the outline is the most illogical yet. Going to look awesome and be crazy exciting. But a lot of the actions will not make sense.

I'm not sure what you are upset about in regard to the Starks however. They have been through a lot but are in by far the best position of any major family still existing in the story. And the final book when it was intended as a trilogy was A Time For Wolves. They are about to dominate the ending of this deal...

This is just for the sake of convo and a different POV. Just my opinion. Season 4 and 5 sucked bc he killed off the best lead characters. The only thing that saved season 4 was The Viper vs Mountain fight. That's literally it. As far as mistakes made by Robb... he only made one. Killing Rickard Karstark instead of holding him hostage so the Karstarks wouldn't leave. Tywin Lannister and the rest of the Lannisters made mistake after mistake after mistake. Martin has Tywin make out like a bandit and fans talk about how cunning he is. How is that logical? Im calling BS. Robb was betrayed by Theon. Not sure what mistake was made there. He was betrayed by his mother for releasing the King Slayer and causing unnecessary tension between him and his bannermen. Nothing he could do there. So he didn't follow through with his pledge to marry the Frey girl. A mistake that isn't worth him and his banner men dying like that over the Frey *****. He made it up to
walder Frey's goofy *** by having Edmure marry her. Some idiots claim Robb should have known that Walder Frey would be like the 2nd person ever in Westeros to violate Guest Right. Yeah ok what the 17 ever. He was an honorable guy and overall badass military strategist that kicked the Lannisters *** in every battle. He also was hands down the best to sit on Iron Throne but he wanted no part of it which makes him even better. He was betrayed by Theon, Catlynn, Roose Bolton, and Walder Frey. 17 all of them. Now the only hope the show has is John Snow and Tyrion. Dany is just for looks. Don't give a rats *** about her as a character. Long live the White Wolf and the King in the North!

Rob betrayed and embarrassed Walter Frey. That's a huge mistake and he was an idiot for doing it

And who betrayed Tywin? Exactly.

Robb made NUMEROUS huge mistakes. The betrayals were largely the result of mistakes. He won a few battles but was never even close to actually defeating the Lannisters. He went off fighting and lost his home, his road back home, his bridge back home, his entire family as far as he knew, and had no real contingency plans in place. He was foolish. I liked him too -- but how the realm and the north see him in hindsight speaks volumes.

I enjoy Thrones discussions. My opinion is That doesn't make him an idiot. I wouldn't have done what Rob did but marrying someone else doesn't make him an idiot. You make it up to him which he did. If the Freys had a problem you go to war. They violated Guest Right. That's worse than anything in the seven kingdoms. All religions in Westeros respect Guest Right. And It's not like Walder Frey is some kind of badass you don't embarrass? No one thinks highly of the Freys. They are a greasy spot on the map of Westeros that happened to have a bridge. Should have just sacked the Twins and taken it the first time they crossed if they didn't.

I actually would have told Walder I'd marry the Frey girl. Demanded his allegiance to fight against the Lannisters right then if I'm marrying his daughter. If not I'd sack his **** bridge and kill him and his entire family. I would have held Rickard Karstark as a hostage and told House Karstark the only way to forgive his treason would be for his House to continue to fight for King Robb until it's over. Then Rickard would be released and all charges dropped.

The Twins have never been taken. He would have essentially lost the war before he made it to the trident. In a game he was already outnumbered 3-1 on.

The Freys will all get theirs before the first episode is over this season.
