I am taking some graduate school courses. I had to withdraw from a semester last Spring (13) and I was then placed on financial aid suspension (for withdrawing from too many classes). I did not take any classes last summer and was still on probation this fall. I took my full load of 9 hours this fall, completed them and graduated. I am wanting to take 9 more hours this spring to finish my specialist degree portion so that I can qualify to be an adjunct professor. However, at the end of the semester, I received notice that I am now being put on suspension and cannot receive aid or scholarships because of this.

Has anyone had experience with this? I do not know why I why it would have progressed from probation to suspension when I never dropped out of any more classes. I assumed it would be corrected when I completed the semester and had good standing.

What did financial aid say? I'm sure you can take out a small student loan from a bank if push comes to shove.

The woman who handles that is out until Monday

Just wanting to see if someone else had experience. Just makes no sense that I would go from suspension to probation for having completed 9 hours and made all A's.

Are you officially accepted into the specialist degree program? If not, the fact that you graduated and are no longer pursuing a degree could be what triggered the letter. Regardless, you obviously need to speak to someone to figure out what is up.

When I graduated (undergrad) in August I got all sorts of emails saying how I hadn't signed up for classes yet and more run of the mill "don't forget to fill out student loan forms for this semester" stuff. I think it's probably generic.
