I discovered I love Hard Cider. At the local Krogers, they only sell 2 brands- Angry Orchard and Woodchucks. The Woodchucks seemed too dry for me, while I personally liked the Angry Orchard Granny Smith.

Are these the only brands you can get around the Jackson area? Are there better ciders? Where can you get some?

I can't direct you around

Jackson to find any... but I really like the Ace Pear Cider (and all Ace cider's for that matter).

Don't usually drink ciders but when I do

I'll drink it down enough to hold a shot of goldslogger (sp?). It turns it to cinnamon apple and a bit more manly if you will

Hornsby is very good. Woodchuck Summer Cider is too. Redd's Apple Ale (a SAB MillerCoors product) is surprisingly good-- obviously though it's not a cider.

You have a better option than the Kroger's etc since the allowable alcohol content level was raised last fall. There are now specialty "beer stores" on the coast, and at least one in the Jackson area. They sell hard cider in addition to beer, and because of the higher allowable alcohol level, they sell many brands the grocery stores can't sell. For some strange reason, liquor stores can NOT sell the amped up beer... I'm not from Jackson, but I know there is one of the specialty beer stores right by the Walmart in Madison.

Try a Dickens Cider. Nothing better on a cold morning than a warm Dickens Cider.

the last thing you should add to cider to make it more manly is cinnamon schnapps. i like to mix mine with a drain. doesn't matter what kind.

I agree, that's why I add a shot of motor oil and a pinch of snuff to mine.*

I don't care what you're drinking but a 6% beer paired w/ a shot of 100 proof liquor is no joke. I remember bottle Budweiser and rumple shots at $1 night at Ricks = recipe for blackouts. This is basically the same thing, albeit a sweeter version. If its too sissy for you, give it to your ole lady and prepare for her to remove your steel wool boxers
