Well so much for the Earl and his henchman. Wasn't as dramatic to me as I hoped.

The brother will be the new lead villain?

There has been, but damn... after last night's episode, there deserves to be another one. I didn't think that the handling of the Earl's demise was terrible, but it was a little odd to have him go from burning down houses and murdering innocent people to talking about how he respected Ragnor and that he wanted such an honorable death. His character just seemed to do a complete 180 in a matter of 2 episodes.

I was not a fan of doing away with the henchman so quickly, though. I had grown to really hate that guy, and I wish they had found a way to keep him around in the background for a little while longer.

Yeah, I'm not quite sure where they're going with it now. I guess that the British king will me the main antagonist now, and after Mutt's historical account from last week, I found it interesting that they brought out the snake pit.

It def was odd the way he changed so quickly. Showed he had some humanity then dead. Siggy will be a major player now.

The show actually follows folklore pretty closely. With the natural artistic changes.

Earl's fat buddy could have been handled a lot better. Most people hated that

guy and a violent hatchet throw to the chest seemed a little mild*.

Seems to me like there is an inordinate amount of commercials during this show. Every time something gets interesting, they switch to a commercial. From now on I'm setting my DVR and watching it later.

Not sure about that. I have thought that many times so far, but he always ends up supporting Ragnar.
It looked like he was going to be the villain when the earl tried to give him his daughter in exchange for testifying against Ragnar, and I also thought he was going to make a legit run at Ragnar's wife at one point.

Looks like it. I thought they'd develop the Earl a lot more, but I guess Gabriel Byrne has other things to do. I also thought they dispatched the henchman a little quick, although the Swedish Earl getting skewered did provide comic relief.

The biggest criticism of VIKINGS, is that they had a democratic form of government. Iceland, settle by Vikings, has had the longest-running democracy in the world (since the Althing was formed in 930 A.D.). Vikings didn't have Nobles or Earls like were common in the world of the Dark Ages.

I love this show and last night was disappointing. I wanted the Earl and that fat henchman to die in a much more gruesome way. Earl should have been beheaded by Ragnar while on the ground. They should have also burned him with his head up his but like the way his sons supposedly died. You'd think it would have been worse after he had his men kill damn near all of Ragnar's neighbors and nearly Ragnar too.

Torture for the fat guy would have been better.

Then ravage Siggy. If this show was on FX the priest would have gotten down with the slave girl that followed her master to Valhalla.
Sounds like we all want it to be a tad more aggressive. I mean they were raiding hordes...lets have it!
