Wow.. It's incredible. Impossible to turn off. There's not a speck of fun in it, however. Nothing like the Sopranos where the show is full of caricatures. It's all deadly serious and I can't figure out where it's going. Why are the present day detectives questioning Hart and Cohle? Which one of them is more morally corrupt? How does the governor's cousin figure in? Is there a hotter girl on the planet (including the SPS-popular fat chick) than Alexandra Daddario?? Should I watch Percy Jackson again with my kids? These questions must be answered.....

There's been another killing. That's my guess. (Keep in mind I haven't watched last night). And Woody is really the more corrupt one, because at least MM knows he's a **** up.

And only watch Percy again if it's in 3D. That movie was kinda lame. Even for a kids movie

That show is badass though. It's like an 8 episode movie. I read one of the main differences is every episode was written by one guy (unheard of for TV shows) and directed by one guy (same). It will be interesting to see who they get for next season.

yeah, it seems to sort of drag along, but at the same time is very very good. They keep showing the machete wielding, jock strap/gas mask wearing freak walking across the yard, which has me thinking that things are about to serious pretty quick.

I didn't know it's an 8 episode season..

Matthew McConaughey is absolutely killing it. Last night's episode had loads of new info. I won't spoil it. Though I will say Sheriff Eli Thompson shows up and nails his part.

Oh.. and speaking of other movies not worth watching... Alexandra Daddarrio was almost cast as the girl in 50 Shades of Grey. I know enough about that book to understand my *** would've forked over $9 if she was in it.

HBOGO is your friend. I haven't recorded anything off HBO in over a year. You can even bounce if from your phone to AppleTV.

Its also going to be an 'anthology' setup. Meaning that each season will cover a different case, different cast which is going to be cool. I began to wonder what would happen at the end of this season. But, that is also going to be a major way to get super star talent to take part. Because it would only be a one year commitment at most.

Incredible show. I have not seen this week's episode so I haven't read anything in this thread but so far its great. Matt Mc is impressive so far. and the level of female talent certainly is incredible. Especially with the T&A on last weeks' episode.

I'm hoping that with the success of this season with Matthew Mc and Woody Harrelson starring in it will draw more big name stars to take part in a 1 season show like this for the future.

This show is killing it right now. Hate the next new episode isn't for another 2 weeks(b/c of the SB)! And episode 3 was a perfect setup for what looks to be the tipping point in episode 4.

For me at least, HBOGo is much better quality than HBOOnDemand. OnDemand isn't always HD. Plus there are like 500 movies on HBOGo.

It's brilliant. 500 movies on HBOgo? Weird I only have like 10-20 available for me. I've seen just about every hbo series that is worth watching

Best show on TV since Breaking Bad. Obviously a different format with it only being 8 episodes long, but it's incredibly captivating. As someone who (almost) has their MFA in Film, I cannot say enough for the quality of writing and production going on here. It's practically flawless. The Woody/McCon combo is off the charts. Some folks I know down here were lucky enough to work on it and were confident it would be a success. The writer/creator is a novelist who grew up in New Orleans. He definitely has an on-point feel for Southern Louisiana. Hoping like hell the last five episodes live up to the first three.

Comcast offers HBOHD On Demand. I don't have an ipad - only iphone and I would much rather watch on my TV.

hbogo.com can be viewed from any computer. Even if you decide to go with the comcast on demand, is checkout the site. It's good stuff.

I really don't watch much TV. The Mrs. Convinced me to watch when it started, and holy ****. It's fantastic.

I wish I could talk to Woody's Character

and try to figure how to replicate what he is doing, because he obviously has some things figured out:

Not if you and your computer are located outside the US. Same with Netflix. That's one thing I hate about HBO go. And that's the only thing.

HBO is killing it...

And True Detective also delivers.

The dialogue involving Woody and MM is gold. The MM scenes where he is interviewing with active detectives while drinking Lone Star and chain smoking are some of the best I have seen.

Aside from the obvious "who is responsible for the murder angle," it seems every character has personal demons they can't overcome. Whether it is infidelity, drug abuse, the loss of loved ones, religion, internal scandals, obscure romances, poverty, illness, etc....it is all there.

You also have one of best soundtracks I've heard from a series.
