My State Farm agent of more than 30 years recently retired. Someone I don’t know is now in the office. I walked in to get some insurance matters handled. The young man at the front desk was wearing a red shirt, like Jake from State Farm, but the logo was a script Ole Miss. He called the new agent to the front to introduce him to me. Same shirt; same logo. Hmmm? I says. Do I need to keep doing bid-ness with this dude? Help me out pack. My money will eventually make its way to the loyalty foundation, don’t you think.

I always recommend shopping your insurance, at least every few years. There's next to no value in loyalty. In this case, I'd HIGHLY recommend it.
Where are you located? There may be a MSU grad State Farm agent in the area. My cars & house have been with Mississippi Farm Bureau for 25 years plus without any issues.
the thing is, if you live in Miss and shop or spend money ultimately some of it will end up at Ole Miss but it's true the other way. Regardless I would get as far away from State Farm as possible.
At minimum, the in your face ole miss logo is shouting that he doesn't give a crap about roughly 3/4's of Mississippians, including you. Find another agent.
This is 100% true. They don't give a shitt. They are all rich and don't need our lowly ag and engineering money, just ask them.
Have not had State Farm since I left Mississippi in 2007. Progressive now after years of Farmers.

A local agent is absolutely worthless in today's world. Go directly online. It'll be cheaper and that who you'll be dealing with anyway if you have a claim.
If you can qualify for USAA, check them out. They’re high, but pay out.
I've had great car insurance with State Farm for years that I couldn't ever get a better quote for and I had a total claim just a few years back. I've tried bundling elsewhere but I think agent wise my agent is worthless I haven't even talked to them in like three years. So much is done online now and if you have a claim it goes through claims office. Several years ago I had a claim with a different agent in a different state that was great and helped a ton. Been thinking about swapping agents to someone closer to my home but wondering if it's even worth it. Don't think they would save me any money. I've tried to bundle with my home insurance and other things with another agency but doesn't help. State Farm used to do all my insurance but got too pricey for everything else or got stopped selling the policy

Yup. I kept my insurance flat for a long time by hopping between Geico, Progressive, and Safeco. Seems like they all had the business model of going in low and doing a slight increase after a year and then a substantial increase after two years. I guess hoping that inertia would keep people paying.
I have had Safeco for a while now and probably should check out alternatives after getting big increases. Been a little easier to understand the increases with the price of everything going up.
You missed a great opportunity to point out the bird **** on their shirts.
Whether he is UM or State doesn't matter, he's State Farm and they are CROOKS!
