OT: home computer speakers

I am tired of my rinky dink logitechs and the tiny seperate 4 inch subwoofer that sounds like mud.

What are some decent computer speakers? I'm not into really high fidelity with the computer. Just want something that doesn't sound like crap. Maybe the $200 range?

Given my recent purchase of some Bowers & Wilkins headphones (which I keep at work), they were the first brand I checked out. $500 bucks is a little step.

I went with Bose Companion 20's. They sound pretty good and I don't have subwoofer clutter.

The Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 are on sale at best buy this week. $20 off you will thank me later after you give em a listen.

Save some money and get significantly better capability. Pick up any of the self powered studio monitor speakers at Best Buy. They have a legit base built in, great nearfield and distance sound. They usually come in under $200 at the big box stores. Best buy keeps them with the microphones/dj headphones, mixing boards. Spent weeks trying to get right combination of products to upgrade my system. These hook right up to a laptop, pc, and your phone just like the computer speakers.

I use a nuforce digital/audio converter/headphone amp but that isn't required. The Cerwin Vega or M Audio Stiudio monitors have ample power on their own. You can find some of the pricier audiophile versions on amazon within your budget as well. That is how I got my nuforce dac/amp and headphones.

Remember the saying ...No Highs, No lows, must be Bose.

Really sounds good. Of course my computer set up is my 2nd TV so I want it sounding good.

If this won't work, I'd go w/Klipsch speakers. Decent speakers at a fair price. Logitech Z series are awesome though.
