Anyone stayed there somewhat recently? Decent place or run down or what? Need a little input. I stayed there years ago and remember the rooms were pretty small but not much else.

On main st, walking distance from the mug shots and the other bars. Breakfast is included in price... has good breakfast, but the breakfast is excellent at the cafe a few doors down. Hotel is older, so rooms have antique look, smaller but clean. Only complaint I have is A.C. units are loud when trying to sleep. Easy, short drive to campus. If you prefer the plain Holiday Inn Express type, maybe not for you. If you want something with character, much better. No doubt this is where we will stay every time in town.

stayed there with family last two football seasons.<div>
</div><div>Great if you like to sign a Legionnaire's Disease waiver when you check in (had to during last two seasons - not sure if doing so currently)</div><div>Great if you like ants in your room - at least half the times we have stayed there.</div><div>
</div><div>During football season (and I assume any weekend) great if you like to wake up at 1 am when the State Theater lets out.</div><div>
</div><div>rooms old and somewhat outdated.</div><div>
</div><div>Convenient location, Dave (owner) great guy - remembers everyone. Starkville Cafe two doors down.</div><div>

much more character than a cookie-cutter hotel. Right on Main Street so you're already there. Dave, the owner, is a great guy.<div>
Rooms are small - no denial. But they are clean, nice, well-kept. Don't know anything about the above waiver or insects that the poster mentioned. Not saying that was not their experience - just saying it was not mine.</div><div>
</div><div>Would do it again except that we've now bought a place in Starkville.</div><div>
