Depressing week. There was probably no larger-than-life entertainment figure than him during the 80s. He was never fully out of the spotlight in later years, but he was insanely big in the 1980s. RIP.

80s just wouldn't have been the same without the Hulkster. With all due respect to Bret Hart, when it comes to wrestling, he was truly "The best there was, the best there is, and the best there ever will be." 🙏

In the past week we've lost Connie Francis, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Ozzy Osbourne , Hulk Hogan , Johnny Mayall, & Chuck Mangione. 🫤
Malcolm-Jamal Warner was a real tough one because it was so unexpected. Eyewitness News ran an interview he did with Sandra Bookman on one of their shows just last year. He talked about not wanting to be completely associated with that role and was excited about what the next chapter of life held for him and his family. Very sad.

"Killer" Kowalski and Bruno were one of the best ring rivals of all time.
Superstar Billy Graham (the first Hulk Hogan) was even better with Bruno. I've been watching some of their matches on Peacock and they were a blast and the crowds were nuts for Bruno.

Governor DeSantis declared it “Hulk Hogan Day” today in Florida! Very nice act with flags at half-staff. RIP Hulkster.

Really? We should have had a state funeral for Bruno Sammartino. The US has become a very strange place. Maybe Kim Kardashian can hope for a flags at half staff when her life ends.

IDK about that. Hulk was larger than wrestling. He was an icon in the 1980s and 1990s. Bruno and Kardashian are not anywhere in the same league or universe.

For real. Unless that commenter wasn’t around back then, the Hulkster was as big as a cultural icon as you get in American history.

I was a huge Roddy Piper, Don Muraco and Randy Savage fan and reveled in any Hogan beat down but I knew he was still the big boss

I mean what occurred in 1984 with MTV and WWE can be often imitated but never duplicated.
An era you had to embrace and live thru.

Also to speak to you directly my friend, Hogan was a huge identity in Florida for 50 years. It would be like you shitting on Springsteen getting flags at half-staff when he passes soon.
Would you piss on that?

Stay in your lane pal.

Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper and Jake the Snake got me interested in the WWF as a little kid. I got to see him live two times in my life - first time at the Skydome when he faced The Rock at WrestleMania, and more recently at his appearance at the MSG rally. RIP Terry Bollea! Hulkamania is now running wild in heaven!

Put the breaks on brother. Kim Kardashian? Lol!!! Hulk Hogan polarized a good portion of the nation as an entertainer for a long time. If a local/state government wants to recognize him. I have no issue with that.

We're down in Naples visiting my Pops and a few places had the flags half-staff, I asked why and was told b/c of the Hulkster
Guy was a legend - made some mistakes, paid the price, and moved on
WTBS, Hulkamania will live forever!
