Freakonomics Radio released two episodes about air traffic control in September 2025: "645. Is the Air Traffic Control System Broken?" (released September 5) and "646. An Air Traffic Controller Walks Into a Radio Studio" (released September 12). The first episode explores issues with the U.S. system's technology and staffing, while the second features a retired air traffic controller's perspective. Both of these are very interesting. I learned some things.
