Oxygen will eventually get into the phone and you will lose the screen. Buy some of that clear adhesive stuff at the apple store and put on the screen and it should last.

Screens for the I5's are still expensive, although they are down to about $110 after being over $200 for much of the year. That said, they are SO easy to fix as an assembly. It's a 5-10 minute job for someone without any real skills.

You can also try the genius bar. If you have applecare or anything similar, sometimes they will replace them for free. If not, they will give you a new one for about $250...

Try CPR (Cell Phone Repair) in the shopping center, junction of I-55 and Northside Drive, next to Bon Ami restaurant.

Front or back screen? My teen aged daughter used my ebay acct and bought the back cover and a little tool kit for about$15 and had it replaced by herself before I got home the day it arrived. Front is harder according to her, I'm a Droid guy myself

Guessing your daughter has a 4 or 4s...

Iphone 3g, 3gs, and 5 open from the front -- and the back is the "hardest" part to replace. Iphone 4 and 4s open from the back -- making the front alot bigger pain to replace.

The front screen is easy to fix on the 3g, 3gs, and 5. Easiest on the 5 since it only comes as a full assembly...

Yeah I think it is a 4s. Lots of YouTube videos out there too harrydawg showing you "how to" do it yourself. Southern Wireless also does repairs in Jackson area and he's an alum (Ed Welsh), he was Bully back in '84-'85 era

Plues not to mention the back of an Iphone 5 is mostly the metal with only slivers of glass at the to and bottom

Make sure it

isn't under warranty. If so, taking it to one of the second-hand stores voids the warranty.
