In his efforts to make Irene look like a Cat 5 this ******* finds some blowing foam to get photographed in. The foam turns out to be "toxic" discharge from a sewage treatment plant. Unbelievable.
I actually saw that live... the funny thing was, he had no idea what caused foam, then the anchor told him "I'm being told that foam like that does not occur naturally... it usually is a result of something foreign reacting with the sea water - often sewage." Then she told him to make sure he took a shower.
My wife and I were discussing this morning how the NY Media has been overreacting to this storm. Fox News had a reporter in Long Island, NY this morning talking about the 3-foot storm surge that was causing "severe flooding" along the road in front of his hotel. I don't really like Shep Smith, but to his credit he mentioned to the reporter that the winds were about to shift to the west and the surge would retreat. The reporter then starts up on how that's going to cause "severe flooding" on the other side of the island as the 3-ft surge would then come from the west.
All hurricane chasing reporters should be required to drive south from the Kiln to Waveland on MS 603 (where it intersects with I-10)and look at the high water mark monumentlocated on the right about 8-10 feet above their SUV on the I-10 embankment. It might help them to gage what severe flooding or surge really is.
