Not sure if I've paid my dues long enough to start a thread but, here goes.

I have a shipment going to Natchez from my place of employment in Georgia. I was just wondering if this was "State territory" or if it "belongs to the bears." From all the recruiting threads there seem to be "strongholds" of each school.

If necessary, I can explain later why I have basically zero knowledge of Mississippi outside of Starkville.

Natchez has a TON of LSU fans.

Prob more Ole Miss grads than State grads there lots of old money folks who went to OM and OM Law Schools in the 60's and 70's

Natchez is LSU country. It is about 1 hour to Baton Rouge and Ridley called it home. If it was up to Natchez, they would move across the river to Louisiana.

My wife and I went to balloon Fest last year, and stayed with some friends that moved there 2 years ago. We went to a party that afternoon, and there were six State alums, one OM fan, and about 50 LSU fans/alums watching aTm and LSU get after one another. Damn good time though!!

Used to live in Natchez, and it is definitely an LSU town. Many more LSU fans than either MSU or UM. Bears are probably next but not by much. Both State and UM have signed players from Natchez in recent years.

It's also a MAJOR USM town.

I know at least 3 USM fans that live there. Though one may have died a few years back.

Still, 20% of their fan base lives there.
