That's leaving out a few relevant facts. It's still pretty simple even with the relevant facts in this situation, but your formulation would lead to incorrect results in a lot of situations.

Believe they were claiming there had been some burglaries in the neighborhood. They thought he was the burglar so they chased him down instead of waiting on the police.
Even if he was the burglar which From the 911 call wasn’t even their property.
You don’t get to do that.

exactly. I'm a 2nd amendment supporter. But having the right to carry a gun does NOT make you a law enforcement officer. It doesn't give you the right to point a gun and threaten someone (while holding a gun) for any damn reason you feel like.

Also a common citizen getting his *** beat, doesn't rise to the level of deadly force. I'm sure the a-holes will argue the victim attacked them and grabbed the gun. In my opinion, in this situation, the victims was trying to protect himself by removing a weapon from an deranged group of idiots.

Anyway.... just senseless.

For just about anyone - I'd think that kind of situation is going to trigger a fight or flight reaction.

It's not like they were just sitting out there randomly parked on the road with guns. They obviously had to pull around him and stop in middle of the road. One guy is in the back of the truck with a gun. Plus there's another car trailing him. Who knows what was said or done when they did this --- were they yelling, pointing guns? We'll never know.

At this point you're only thinking these crazy people are going to shoot you for whatever reason. You're either going to try & run away, or you're going to fight and hope you can kill them first. But most of us aren't going to think about it - it's just going to be a natural response most of us aren't trained to control.

Wait, when is it OK to chase an unarmed man and kill him? I can't think of many times that would be a reasonable approach. Maybe if you just unarmed him and he turned to run in the middle of a fight. He may have another weapon, your life was already in danger, not taking any chances, etc.

I'm not sure if "ok" is the right word, but there are plenty of hypothetical scenarios where it would not be simple and would be legal for the shooter. For example, basically the Zimmerman situation if you believe that Martin attacked him and was trying to either take the weapon or bash his head on the pavement.

To get more similar to this situation, if they had not had a gun out and had not tried to physically block his way, and the guy attacked him and tried to take a holstered weapon, it would have probably been a legal shooting. Basically any scenario not involving a threat or unlawful action that would make self defense from an attack by the jogger unavailable as a defense.

two armed men chased and killed an unarmed man. someone comes at you in a truck yelling at you while holding a 17n shotgun no mater where that thing is pointed is pretty 17n threatening

I would be scared out of my mind if I was in the same situation. I would 100% feel like my life is in danger in that situation. There is no telling what a person will do when they feel their life is in danger

You can’t just initiate a confrontation with an unarmed individual while you bring firearms, kill them and not go to jail. If that is the case laws need to be changed.

One of them, the father I think, is ex-law enforcement. Almost certainly a coverup to protect "one of their own". And then the Covid happened ....

That's another crazy part of this. Local law enforcement asking the GBI to investigate the release of the video, because it's obviously so damning.

Didn't it take the GBI all of 24-48 hours of reviewing the case to make an arrest?

Was GBI not even aware of the incident until the locals asked them to investigate? Surely they knew about it, and only reacted because of the national publicity. How could they possibly not have known?

I think D.A. Barnwell and the initial D.A. who recused herself should also be put on trial and anyone else involved it what sure looks like a huge cover-up.
