OT: Lake Charles, LA

Just saw a segment on the Weather Channel about widespread flooding in Lake Charles. Yesterday they had over 15 inches of rain. Those folks have been hit hard in the last year - two hurricanes, and now flooding rains with more to come.

It was rough here in BR last night. My rain gauge showed 13.5”s in less than 12 hours.

When I lived there 20-something years ago, streets flooded quite often due to the rain and the number of bayous running through town. But it was never as bad as what they are showing on weather channel! Those poor folks deserve a break!

They definitely have taken a beating. I think they are getting another round now.

Lake Charles is having a really bad go of it, I feel for them. They've lost 5% of their population just in the last two years; oil production job losses has also been a factor.
