I was watching a comedy presentation by Russell Brand. Wasn't sure I was going to like it...still not sure, but he was definitely full of manic (ADD??) energy...bright and entertaining.
During one of his rants, he points to picture of Hitler that includes several children, including one classmate, Ludwig Wittgenstein. I went to the net / confirmed that they attended the same elementary school at the same time.
Years after the picture was taken (around the late 20's) Wittgenstein on defending his Ph.d. thesis @ Cambridge patronized (pulled a Groucho line imo) the two professors who questioned him and said something like "Don't worry, I knew you'd never understand it".
They passed him.
From a Rutgers perspective, I think the correct answer would have been..."you're right, so explain it until we do"!
MO
PS What this has got to do with our football / basketball programs? I don't understand how we've sunk so low and are able to justify it by saying something like Wittgenstein : "You'd never understand it".
Answer, we don't ....so no soup for you!
PPS On another note about Wittgenstein, it was noted that he never took money from his family (very well off) or anyone ...unless he earned it. Please pass this onto the administration /every coach we employ!!
