My apologies if this has been covered. A quick search didn't indicate that it had.
In this article, they basically say to meet demand they are going to add more water. Wouldn't it be better to just raise prices than 17ing up the recipe. Make more money and not screw up what has been an awesome whisky for a long time?

As to not raising the price, Bill Samuels said that he did not want to price people out of the market.

The new stuff will be in the State warehouse next week and in stores by the following week. Give it a try. Anybody remember when virtually all bourbons & whiskies were 90 proof or better? Jack Daniels has gone from 90 proof to 86 proof to 80.

These commercial distillers are more about selling in bulk. The good bourbons are from the smaller distillers like Mississippi River Distilling Company in Le Claire, IA

They won't raise the price because they want Makers Mark to clearly be in a different price category from their next bourbon up (which I think is Basil Hayden's? Or maybe Knobb Creek?).

Have you tried the 10yr? Little pricey($50) buts damn fine.
