OT: man of Steel. Kid friendly?

For those that have seen it- is it too rough for a 5&/or 8yo?

Depends on the kid. If they can handle most of the comic book movies from the past few years they'll be fine. No real violence outside of punching and kicking, and explosions and buildings falling down. Language is pretty mild and sex is not a factor either.

It's fine, but...

...they're likely to be bored at times. Mine expected to see Superman flying from the minute the opening credits rolled.

Took my 6 year old to see it today and he did fine with it...just dealing with the inevitable sucker punches for the rest of the day as he pretends to be Superman. Had a long discussion with him about how the movie ended.
