I’ll admit I was a GNR fan from day one, and I will not debate that Appetite is easily one of the best albums from start to finish. Use your Illusion came out when I was 15 and the idea of buying 2 CDs seemed absurd at the time, but I still did it. Loved them both, people complained of the piano, random movie quotes, two different versions of Don’t Cry etc. I am listening to the whole thing while I am doing spreadsheets at 49 years old and holy shít the entire thing stands up. In the day the hits were what I loved, but now it’s the deep tracks that stand out. I hate AXL was a shíthead and tore them apart, but damn they stamped one down in 1991.

“Get In The Ring” was my ‘get psyched up’ pregame song in my later Dixie Youth baseball days.

Also, you are correct. Use Your Illusions I & II holds up.

Meh, I had too much testosterone to like the GNR hits from back in the day. Those were chick songs. I can remember playing pool at The Rec in Southaven back in the day and Sweet Child of Mine would play on the juke box every third song. I got so sick of it that I never recovered. Hearing those guitar chords make me nauseous to this day. But hey, the chicks loved it.

I did like Mr. Brownstone and I Used To Love Her. The deeper cuts are always the best. Welcome To The Jungle was a Scott Field staple back in the day so that was always fun.

VH’s 1984 album was the last good music
You're onto something here but I remember being disappointed in 1984 when it came out. Jump felt like a sellout song with all the keyboards n shlt. But there were still some absolute bangers on that album. Panama is a song that holds up and Hot For Teacher may have been the best music video ever created.

Drop Dead Legs is the best song on 1984, followed by Top Jimmy

My high school typing teacher was an absolute hammer. Former Ole Miss cheerleader.

And yes - I took typing in high school - I'm old.
I must also be old, because I didn't read anything out of the ordinary when I read your post. I imagine how that sounds to kids who have been texting since they were 3 now.

I also immediately thought of my 10th grade typing teacher, who was famous for looking like Aunt Esther. We called her gorilla cookie. Behind her back of course.

Funny you mention GNR, their deep cut from Use Your Illusion, Estranged, has been recurring in my feed for months. A 9-1/2 minute underrated song that I never skip.

"You're one in a million" from the Lies album surprisingly has also been popping up on Pandora. This is the final sign that woke/political correctness is officially dead.

Estranged is probably my least favorite song on both albums (aside from My World, which probably shouldn't count as a song). I have never liked it.

I'm a boomer and I like some of Guns 'n Roses' music. I also like some of Def Leppard's.
Y'all should have seen my 9th grade biology teacher. I could have stared at those legs all day. And did.
I had a 12th grade (that's what they called the high school senior class in Meridian) pre-calculus class from a teacher in her first year out of Southern and had been a Dixie Darling.

Me too. 72 wpm with no errors on an old Royal manual typewriter. Got some sort of medal for it. That's one of the most universally useful classes I've ever taken.

They looked something like this, but were a lot cleaner than this one: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1287257580/1960s-royal-empress-typewriter-mid Had a cloth ribbon. I bought a portable electric one for college - much easier to operate and very useful for lab reports and English Comp papers.

One in A Million is my favorite GNR song
