I have many client sites down on a dedicated server in Utah. I was upset at my hosting company but now it seems like a lot of hosting companies have the same problem.

Now on twitter people are claiming some kind of massive DDS (?) attack this morning. Just in case someone here is having issues....

Ddos, aka denial of service. hackers have figured out they can kill a network with a flood of seemingly legitimate web site login or registration attempts. They select a company they want to abuse and simply overburden the network with attempts. They must be pissed at the mormons.

Hackers overseas have a lot more bandwidth space, so they can easily flood companies' (usually banks) networks, meaning users can't access the companies' websites or their accounts. Usually, the purpose is to extort money from the company because it's a lot cheaper to pay the ransom, rather than risk the customer loss.
