I think I remember something posted on here before on how to get rid of Mole Crickets, but couldn't find the thread. My front yard is starting to disappear in large patches, and I have the tell-tale mole cricket small mounds and fine dirt being pushed up. Does anybody know how to get rid of those little 17ers? Preferably something I can buy at Lowes or Wally World and won't give my kids or dogs cancer (though I'd love for it to give the mole crickets cancer). I feel like they are receiving orders to destroy my grass from Colonel Kurtz, and I want to terminate them with extreme prejudice.

I had them when I lived in LA. Seems like I watered dishwashing soap into the grass to bring them to the surface to find out exactly where they were and treated that area with an insecticide. You will probably have to treat it more than once when the eggs start hatching
I've had some old timers say put juicy fruit gum in the holes. Never tried it but they say it will kill them. I always try to find a high spot and stick a water hose in the hole. Eventually they will disappear if you mess with them enough. I don't know if I drown them or they leave. They can be a pain in the *** for sure.

You can also contact the main extension ofc on campus. They should have info for you.
I have used them before for a football field. You're gonna have to buy a sprayer if you don't have one.
Dishwashing liquid mix works for army worms. Not sure about mole crickets. You might just try raising their taxes.

My personal Ag consultant and best redneck says there's a bait you can use that works really well. Said most co-ops should have it. It's called Deltagard G or some kind of carbaryl bait.
