OT: MSU maroon paint help

We are painting one of the walls in my son's room maroon. The Sherwin Williams in Starkville said Rookwood Red is the color. It looks dark as hell. Sommelier looks better, but still not perfect.

I plan on putting MSU Fat Heads and a Dak Fat Head on the wall when it's done. I'd prefer not to have 13 shades of macroom.

Anyone know the name of the "official" color?

Pantone 505 C is the official maroon. Find a Benjamin Moore store. They should be able to get you a pantone color match.Go matte or eggshell to get it most accurate.

My wife works for Sherwin Williams, not in Starkville, she said that it's a custom match color. The Starkville store has the formula on file, you just didn't talk to the right person but Rockwood Red is definitely not the right color.

You saved me. The wife just called SW in Starkville again and they took a picture of the paint code for the paint they mixed for painting The Hump. It doesn't have a name. Just a code that looks like a 9 square matrix.
