Trying to find some good music to add to my library. I'd love some artist recommendations that are similar to James Taylor, America, John Fogerty, Dr. Hook, Orleans, CCR, Eagles, John Denver. In other words, some good 70's and 80's soft rock artists that I haven't thought of I guess.

Dan Fogelberg, Jackson Browne, Steve Forbert (a Mississippian), Dave Mason, Linda Ronstadt. A little older, but Gordon Lightfoot and Blood, Sweat & Tears.

Robbie Robertson from The Band released a new album 3 years ago with Eric Clapton and some others featured on each track. I really enjoy it.

With him being from Waynesboro, he hears Paul Davis (or at least should constantly). And on that note...

A few have already been mentioned, but I'd go with Jackson Browne (Running On Empty is an awesome album), Van Morrison (Moondance album) , Billy Joel, Christopher Cross, Eric Clapton, Bob Marley, Tom Petty, Steve Winwood, Neil Young, Neil Diamond, Joe Cocker, Jim Croce, Cat Stevens, Bob Seger, and Crosby, Stills, & Nash.

Also, someone mentioned Steve Forbert. He's from Meridian and is one of my all-time favorites. VERY underrated.

You might want to check out Ryan Adams and Brett Dennen...these are more current versions of the music you like.

The Sheepdogs

They are a current band that has a classic vibe.

others off the top of my head:

The Sadies
Allah Las
Mystic Braves

If you want something from the 60s/70s, then start with the 13th Floor Elevators.

If you like Wolf People

If you like Traffic, give Wolf People a listen.

If you like Wolf People, check out a band called Assemble Head in Sunburst Sound. I'm glad to hear someone else listens to Wolf People. You'll enjoy Assemble Head.

And while on the subject of music, everyone should be listening to the Sadies.

Acoustic guitar and mellow vocals for the most part. City of black and white album and his initial album are my favorites.

If you have the TuneIn Radio app, do a search for "70s". My favorite is "That 70's Channel." Sometimes it's a radio DJ format, sometimes just music, but always great music of the 70s. I got weary of Pandora because it starts out great but eventually transitions to things unrelated to what I wanted to listen to. Yes, I know about the like/dislike thumb, but does anyone really have time for that?
