Never shot anyone, but I have thought about reaching under the seat a few times.

PLEASE PEOPLE: do NOT get in the lefthand lane unless you are actively passing or about to turn left. You can go 90 miles an hour in the left hand lane all you want, but somebody is going to be going 95 (maybe me) and needs you out of their way.

So get over to the right as soon as the opportunity presents itself.

It's safer and Jesus expects you to.
I would be interested to know other people's interpretation of "actively passing".

If I can see a car that I am gaining ground on, I'm usually not leaving the left hand lane if there's nobody gaining behind me. That might be a bad metric in the delta or somewhere outwest, but generally seems fine on any road I regularly drive on.

Also, the flipside of left lane cruising is all the *** holes in teh right lane that speed up when they see you are passing them. I don't know what the 17 that is about. Just yesterday I gave up and put my blinker on and was getting in the right hand lane behind the car that sped up and some dumb 17 flying in the left lane decided to ignore my blinker and tray to pass on the right and squeeze in between us.

The rule should say the "far left" lane, so it includes roads that have more than 2 lanes in each direction. That's common in large more urban areas, and is fairly common on rural highways.

Left lane camping is illegal in Alabama now, and it's even enforced occasionally. I've also heard of people getting a ticket for failing to signal a lane change (that's a pet peeve on mine).
In Florida, our Interstate Electronic Billboards say " You Camp in our State Parks, not the left lane."

What's considered slow in the left lane?

I was guilty on 78 this weekend. I was doing 80mph (70 is limit) and had to get over a few times for people on my bumper.
Slow in the left lane is any speed that’s not passing traffic.

pass and get the 17 back over to the right lane.

I do not understand these people at all. Regardless what speed you want to drive, why would you want to subject yourself to the stress of the traffic jams you are creating and everyone around you having to jockey for position to pass you on the right? So much easier and more relaxing to just drive in the right lane. I'm convinced anyone doing this has at least a little bit of a$$h0le in him.
Selfish as 17

I am fine moving over to the right lane to let cars by, does not matter if I am doing 70, 80, or more. The ones that pi$$ me off are going about 100 and buzz upon your rear and start flashing their lights, like I don't see you. I still get over because getting shot over driving is stupid.
You don’t wanna drive on a freeway in Europe then. Bc they 17ing expect you to see them In the rear view and speed up to get over.

AND IT WORKS!!

If a left lane passer is going at least 70 in a 70 mph limit road and you are impatient because you want to go 75-80 it's on you Dog. If he's going less than 70, then he needs to get back in the right lane and let you pass first.
You are the new @DAWG61. What a damn moron.

Yep. I don't camp out in the left lane. But if I am doing 75 or 80 in a 70 speed limit while passing and you run up behind me doing 95, you get to wait 5 seconds. And stick it in your ear while you are at it.
What if you are going 75 and the guy you are passing is going 74.5?

speed the 17 up and get around them. Safer for everyone.

Basic rule of thumb is this: if you aren't passing someone, drive in the right lane. Also, faster moving traffic drive in left lane. If in the left lane passing, and a faster car is also passing and on your bumper, move over to right lane. If everybody would follow these simple rules, I don't think there would be any problems, or at least very, very few.

Also, faster moving traffic drive in left lane. If in the left lane passing,
No. You pass and you get back in the right lane. FULL STOP. You should never cruise in the left lane if the right lane is open, even if no one is coming up behind you.

I know the you are hiding behind a key board being an *******, but here goes anyway.

If traffic flow is 70 to 80, and you are going 95 to 100, YOU are the one causing the hazard. If you are going that fast above the speed limit, YOU should expect to have to weave and occasionally be held up. Get over it. The road is not your personal property. The vast majority of drivers do their best not to hold anyone up., including me. Grow up, fool.

It's people like you that cause me always to carry my 9mm.

Dont move the goal posts. You specifically commented on 75 passing a 74.5. That takes 40 to 60 seconds. Speed up and get around them. Clogging the left lane is dangerous for everyone.

Lets look at it differently. Lets say you are going 71 and the person you are passing is going 70.5 and i've got my cruise on 76. I'm not speeding excessively but you not wanting to change your speed at all has created a problem for all 3 of us. Maybe more if there are people behind me.

Pass and get over. Its really 17ing simple.

And i can assure you the vast majority of drivers don't get back in the right lane when they pass. Its 50 to 55% at BEST. Yes 55% is a majority but it isn't a VAST majority.

Most left lane slow drivers are driving foreign cars. Typically Hondas.

Here is my public service announcement. If you visit Collierville, TN it appears that stop signs are optional. That is all.

It bugs the hell out of me. If you can't bring yourself to obey the rule and drive in right lane at least move over when someone traveling faster than you comes up from behind, you. I will say I have rolled my window and gave them the stink eye while passing them on the right.

Have to mention it because it happened again right in front of me earlier, and all the time, but it doesn't count when you put a blinker on as you take the turn.
