My old Justin's are roached. I want to get some decently nice boots now. Any of you have any suggestions and/or know a website?

It depends do you want another pair of **** kickers to wear with your PFG? I've got a few pair of redwings and my favorites are the wabasha that J crew did. The Beckmans are really nice too but pricy this season. Chippewa has stepped it up and the Wolverine 1k mile boots look great too

Depends on how nice you want. I have always stuck with leather Justin boots. If you want to get into the more high dollar or exotic skins like ostrich I recommend Lucchese and Tony Lama. Wouldn't try to order online. Different boot brands tend to size differently. I have known of people that ordered online and got them in and weren't pleased with the fit. Try to find a local place that you can actually look at them and try on. Lucchese has really nice leather boots but are more pricey than Justin

What purpose

do you need them for, work or leisure?

I've got some Georgia pullups for work and a pair of laceups. The laceups are better for job sites where more stable ankle support is needed, and they're actually better suited for work, overall.

I wear Georgia Boot Co for work boots. My feet never hurt with them from working/standing on concrete all day to working out in the field.

I guess I should have included that. My b.

Just need some boots for around town. I was given a pair of ropers as a gift like my freshman year at State and I've gone through 2 soles... And they look it. They're now designated **** kickers.

I guess I wanted something with a little design in them this time. Nothing too fancy, and I'd like to stick to the leather soles.

I'll recommend a smooth skin ostrich boot. Classy sharp boot and still affordable. Check out sheplers.com if you don't have a good boot store local.

I've got these RW iron rangers and I wear them just about everyday and couldn't be happier with them.

Lucchese Classics (handmade) are the only way to go. I own 3 pair and wouldn't trade them for anything. Full quill ostrich is a great look, easy to care for and very durable. Goat skin is a little less expensive but still very durable and look great. Short of a truly custom pair, Lucchese is the most comfortable, highest quality boots you will find. Plus they are made in the USA. Not many others are anymore.

Mine will be 18 next month, and are on their third soles

and they still look awesome. My girlfriend, who lives up in yankee-land even likes them. And they're comfortable. I bought them Thanksgiving break freshman year. I need to take them in to get some stitching fixed, but other than that they look like they can go another 18 years easy.

I can't believe I just participated in a boot thread.

I thought about the irony of starting a boot thread on an MSU board and did it regardless. Better than a loafer thread, right?

It depends on what you're going to need them for. You can't go wrong with Georgia, Wolverine, or Red Wing for work boots. Ariat makes a fine dress boot as does Rios of Mecedes, however be prepared to pay for them.

I'll also recommend Ariat for quality around town boots with style. I absolutely love mine.

I have a pair of double H that I really like. I have a weird sized foot that is not quite a 14 and bigger than a 13, and these are the only boots I have ever found that were just right. And they are made in the USA

Go to www.countryoutfitter.com. They have some really sharp casual and work boots from many brands, but as already mentioned being online means you can't try em on first. I currently have a pair of Rockies slip on that I'm not totally satisfied with. Had em a year and still hurt my feet by end of day. I've been looking at Ariats for work here lately.

I 2nd this. If you're wanting a nice looking and comfortable 'dress' boot then go with ariats. I have a pair of ariats, tony llamas and double h's for my dress boosts. Georgia all day for my work boots.
