only problem with Sunday morning is that Central Grocery is not open. BTW, best muffelata in the world any other day. Get a Barq's with it.

Check out this French Bakery one morning, Croissant D'Or Patisserie, and get some Almond Croissants. It's in the Quarter but off the beaten path. Brigtsens on Carrolton for dinner. Lots of locals eat there and the food is terrific.

I'd love to see Kermit Ruffins.....Here's a great one...

John Boutte (Soul Jazz) plays every other Saturday night at dba on Frenchmen's street. I would do that if he's playing there the weekend you are there. If not see if Kermit Ruffins is playing somewhere. If you don't know who these guys are check them out on YouTube. Try Satsuma's in Bywater for breakfast.

Here's my food List...
Be sure to go uptown, get a cooler full of beer and go to the Fly behind the Zoo and hangout by the river.
Frenchman Street at night instead of the Quarters..
Enjoy..

Yeah I would have loved to have been there when Trombone Shorty and Foo Fighters jammed.

I'll cast another vote for Jacques Imo's. I don't think they accept reservations so be prepared to wait a few but you can always order a beverage or two from the bar while waiting. Order the Alligator Cheesecake appetizer and thank me later. NOLA's is the best of Emeril's 3 resteraunts. Mr. B's Bistro in the quarter on Royal is good. For oysters of any type go to Drago's.

when in nawlins....

My sister is finally coming south and we are planning on going to New Orleans for an arrive Friday and leave Sunday weekend. She is well traveled and has been all over the world so seeing some guy painted silver on a box won't impress her. I don't have any plans for getting blasted. So what are things to do for a World Traveled Yankee to get her first taste of New Orleans?

my must haves are a peacemaker poboy at Acme Oyster House, grilled oysters at Drago's, and some fried chicken at Willie Mae's Scotch House.
