had a great meal at the theater district location (W 44th St.?) really good - huge portions and the price is right.

Just one note. DON'T go to Little Italy for Italian! There are probably 50 Italian restaurants in Manhattan better than any in Little Italy...

Go to Scalini Fedeli, Maialino, or Lupa for Italian, depending on price range in that order. Alta is a good tapas place, reasonable price. A great bar/restaurant is spotted pig. Good casual place that's different is Momofuku Saam Bar. If you're a redneck need redneck food at least every other day, go to Hill Country for barbecue. Burger Joint and Shake Shack are best on burgers...good previous calls. Also previous good call is River Cafe for visitors, because of view and great service. Best steak is Peter Lugar, but it's in Brooklyn. In Manhattan, Quality Meats brings it, but kind of a man place. If you have women, go to BLT Prime or if you're going to be drinking and want to liven it up a bit, Striphouse. If you really want to come home broke, go to Park Avenue Winter for lunch and Eleven Madison for dinner.

You're welcome.

I've stayed all over the city and I would recommed the Gramercy Park Hotel. Great service, cool rooftop bar, ecclectic rooms, and a good central location.

Eat at Union Square Cafe for dinner. Go to Soho and tool around, then eat at Mercer Kitchen for lunch. Have a drink at the Oak Bar at the Plaza Hotel late one afternoon after hitting midtown. Do the MOMA or the Frick or the Guggenheim over the Met.

Without asking any input from me (Not that she would have listened to me anyway), the wife and in-laws have decided that the best "deal" they could find would be for us to stay at Hotel 41. I think this may be located near Times Square. I guess they got on Expedia or something and did a search.
Anyone have any info on this place?
