I pray an angry Bahl catches cretin Trouba with his head down before the end of the game. Trouba must have some great blackmail on Bettman or something, to get away with the hits to the head! It's garbage.

Win the 3rd period Devils, win the game. I'd like to bottle Vanacek's performance tonight.

Until this team gets a legit goalie (not to excuse the terrible team D), they ain't nothing.

Being the Oilers of the East is nothing to brag about.

Getting clocked because you skate with your head down doesn’t make it a dirty hit.

I see the Newark Devils are still soft as Charmin. Way too small to be a legit team. However, just like the NBA, the first half of the NHL regular season is completely pointless. Hockey doesn't really start until after the Super Bowl. Until then!

This team has a real problem in goal. Is the plan really to try and win games 6-5 every night?

Welcome interloper, it is a carbon copy of the types of hits the NHL says they want to take out of the game. Yes in 2023 it is dirty, and probably caused Nosek a concussion.

[/QUface.
Ryan Lindgren says hi. Shoulder to the chin, definitely unintentional, but Lindgrens head was up, point of contact was the head.

The problems are defense and goaltending. Brodeur in his prime would have trouble with this unit. Last year was marked by streaks and comebacks, this is a new year, and this year we are much more likely to lose a lead than comeback.

If Fitz doesn't move smartly here we very well could be in a tenuous position by the New Year. March is too far away if things don't snap back relatively soon.

That was no where's near as hard, and the point of contact was different. McLeod has never in the NHL hurt a guy with a hit. You can't say the same for Trouba, and it is far from one or two guys he has hurt.

Some NYR fans can't stand we won the last game that truly mattered! A loss in November never comes close to a playoff loss. Kakko is better than Jack LOL, just tonight Hughes tied Kakko's season point total 2.

Devils are soft as hot butter but I have a feeling that you won’t be too happy in April
Meh, probably right, but we will figure that out after football is over. The NHL regular season is a joke. The playoffs are all about who has the hottest goalie at the time.

I’m not sure those first 3 ny cups really count as full ?
How many playoff rounds did they win those years? Seems like they are 1/4 Cups

Only 1 Cup win in 82 years for the Rags and they had to trade for half of the Edmonton team to do it.

1994 still the most magical year for the NHL and NY area sports. That parade down the Canyon of Heroes was epic.

How many times will you guys celebrate your 1994 cup team this year? 6? 8? 12 times?

You're like the Mets milking their 1986 WS title.

Wasn’t a head shot, rightly wasn’t penalized, and if the league acts it just proves their inconsistency because it was not nearly as close to the “edge” of legality as other hits Trouba has not been punished for.

Both this hit and the hit on Lindgren started with body on body and the league doesn’t (or at least hasn’t before) consider that illegal.

“2.5 Cups” lol. Had the New York Oilers not won in ‘94, they’d be sitting on 0 since the invention of movable type.

As much as I loathe the NYR, I’m glad this rivalry is building back up after a decade of miserable hockey in NJ. The fact that both fanbases celebrate November wins over the other like Stanley Cups means these games mean something again.

We've won three cups since you won your last, actually it feels like four, beating you guys in 2012 was ****ing glorious, I was there. One of the greatest nights of my life.
I will admit, you guys got lucky with Lou and Marty. Those guys earned those 2.5 cups. But remember, you were a Mickey Mouse organization before them and ever since.

2012 and 2014 were essentially a push, losing in the finals to LA. Neither team could get over that last step. Oh well.

Lol yeah the Devils "got lucky" with a great GM and drafting a guy that broke virtually all the goaltending records, but the Rangers winning a Cup because of the Oilers' inability to afford their roster wasn't luck at all. Also I know I've told you this about 1000 times, but if 1995 only counts as half a Cup because it was a 48-game season followed by 16 playoff wins, then 1928, 1933, and 1940 are all even less than half because '28 was only 44 games with the Rangers winning 5 playoff games, '33 was 48 games with the Rangers winning 6 playoff games, and '40 was 48 games with the Rangers winning 8 playoff games. So even if we go with your mental gymnastics, the Rangers are still the less successful franchise even with their 56-year head start in a league with only a handful of other opponents.

Oh, this is going to be so easy.....fun too!!

Lets recap both organizations since you won your last cup, a cup that you had to take seven games and barely held on in that Game 7 to beat a very average Canucks team 4-3.

We've been in the SC Finals FIVE times winning THREE cups.

You guys - once been to the SC Finals in 2014....and you lost.

On top of beating you guys in the 2012 ECF's in epic fashion, we swept you guys in 2006......we've never been swept ever in the playoffs.

During this period, you guys have resorted to roster building either by signing overpriced UFA's or trading for aging stars, examples:

Pat Lafontaine 32 years old
John MacLean 34
Kevin Hatcher 33
Valeri Kamensky 33
Kevin Stevens 34
Theo Fluery 32
Marc Messier 40 (2nd Rags tour)
Pavel Bure 30
Eric Lindros only 28 but heavily concussed and way past his prime
Bobby Holik 32
Jaromir Jagr 31
Martin Rucinsky 32
Martin Straka 33
Brendan Shanahan 38
Chris Drury 31
Markus Nasland 35
Wade Redden 31
Vinny Prospal 34

And this is just 1998 to 2009!! I could go on but need to get to the bar for my Dolphins game.

The Devils always built within though Lou did start playing the Rangers game with dumb signings of older players like Ryder and Clowe, but by then he already placed himself as a legendary GM.

How has Glenn Sather worked out for you guys? 😆

Rangers are the true Mickey Mouse organization, especially in the tri-state area, when it comes to cups in our lifetime the Rangers have won one while their area rivals have SEVEN!!!

Even before the Islanders came along you guys were a ******* joke, from 1941 to 1971 the Rangers went 1-11 in the playoffs!! Bahahahaha!!

I think the only thing the Ranger fan like you has in their favor over other fans is the false sense of superiority as hockey fans. For whatever reason you think you're a special bunch which is puzzling as your team has been a constant joke through years!

Probably the most memorable team in the history of the NHL! They are honored all the time by the league, including the MM Leadership Award for one of the greatest leaders in the history of sports.

FYI - NYR still has a better playoff record against the Newark Devils.
