Anyone know anything about this area? This is another area I might have a chance to go to.

I've spent a bunch of time recently in that area somewhat.. south of Erie down to Youngstown, OH. Your preachin' might fall on deaf ears...

Seriously serious question here..
How much does decisions about changing churches does money or the divine spirit play into it?
And still serious question has any reverend-preacher-minister, etc..ever been called/lead to accept a lower paying church?

Yeah, I knew a guy that went from a mega church to a church plant of 50 people. For me, as long as I can feed my family and put a roof over their head (which does require a lot these days), I don't want much more than that, as long as I can reach people in the community I am in.

I’ll leave that to preacher_dawg to answer…

Those of us who are in professions where there is perceived by folks to involve a sense of being
called would say that it doesn’t mean we want to be underpaid…

I remember the great Grady Nutt said that a church would offer more and more money until the Lord leads the preacher to take it.

Sometimes it is money but theres other things that factor into it. Several years ago our preacher announced he was leaving for another church. When he came to us in the beginning we were hurting after some very difficult circumstances that nearly tore it apart and he healed those wounds and our church was growing and thriving. The church he left to go to was basically the same scenario from when he started for us. He had felt that he had accomplished here what God intended for him to do and that he needed to go on to the next chapter and help another church that was hurting.

I've always said the three hardest jobs in a small town are (1) the "pro" at the local country club. (2) the "headmaster" at the local private school and (3) the preacher at the largest protestant church in town
