Why the hell was the last face off in the devils zone? I thought it was cleared.

Siegenthaler was absolutely terrible today. -2 and took a awful penalty in OT. Hamilton wasn’t much better. Graves probably shouldn’t be on a playoff roster.

Luke Hughes was the best defenseman on the ice tonight. Nemec should be up next year and Casey should get a look.

The team far exceeded my expectations this season, but this is a tough way to lose, on a dumb penalty in ot.

It shouldn’t take away from the great year. Awesome job by a young team.

Tough way to have the season end
I don’t like that delay of game penalty rule

Carolina is the better team but I felt the Devils did enough to win last night.

Missed chances in the 2nd , including Timo’s missed open net, came back to bite them.

Without dissecting too much , it’s a team with lots of speed, skill and character but lacking in physicality and experience

They now have some playoff experience

Fitzgerald has the chance to make this team serious upper tier with a few smart additions

Schmid was overall excellent and has the makeup to be a #1

Can’t figure out why Ruff didn’t go with him in that crucial Game-4

Damn good season , broke a lot of team records, saw young players up their game by large strides and they beat the battle tested and veteran Rags in the playoffs

A season to be proud of.
I’m wearing a Devils hat today for work in appreciation

Glass half full, not only did the Devils WIN a round, the way things went Fitzgerald had to see what we are still deficient in. Again not a direct comparison but, the Tampa Bay Lightning got swept their first playoffs, with this current group.

In the playoffs, you must be strong enough to create your own time and space. The Devils even with Timo and misused Lazar, were not able to do this consistently.

Tom Fitzgerald has another advantage, so many guys who didn't show up, are now either UFA or RFA. One of the few I hope gets resigned is Haula, a leader who cares. Trade Bratt, let the finesse big guy Graves walk with the likes of Severson, Wood, and Tatar. Last thing, don't sign Dumba.

I thought Haula was excellent throughout the playoffs. I had opposite thought on Hamilton.

YES, Haula like most of the Devils, got out muscled against Carolina. Hamilton is big and strong enough, but he is a pretty boy finesse player.

I’ll put this here since the NHL playoffs are still active

Devils sign and trade Severson to. Columbus for a 3rd Round draft pick

Damon never reached the potential I thought he could have but he gave us quite a few good memories in addition to poor play.

For every good play…he made two bad ones.

Bahl and the pick they used on Dawson Mercer were what came back from the Yotes in the Taylor Hall trade. That one worked out really well for the Devils.
Yeah and they also got a 3rd round pick in that trade, which was later traded for Siegenthaler. Going back further, the Devils got Taylor Hall for Adam Larsson. So essentially they turned Adam Larsson into an MVP season from Taylor Hall and then Mercer, Bahl, and Siegenthaler.

Wasn’t there a HUGE defenseman we got from that trade too?
