If you lived in the Omaha area, eastern Nebraska, western Iowa, during this time you certainly remember this.

I fortunately got home near 114th & W Center and walked to a covience store to get some eggs. The clerk knew me and asked if I could take some of the stranded people home for the night. I said sure and 12 guys followed me home to my 1 bedroom apartment.

I lived around 20th and A. I loved mom and dad, but was getting real tired of sitting around the house with them. Luckily I got a call from a friend about 4 blocks away who got a bag of pot right before the storm hit. He said it was real good - Michoacan. I told mom and dad I was going for a short walk to "get some fresh air". I met the friend half way from each of our houses while the storm blew. We tried to fire up right there on the sidewalk since there was no vehicle traffic and too much snow for people in their houses to see what we were doing. We couldn't light the pipe because even my old Zippo with the "patented chimney" wouldn't keep the flame lit. We ducked under the 20th St overpass of I-80 and even though it was cold as hell, managed to have a little party. I don't miss the complications of being 16 years old, but sometimes I miss the biggest drama in life being sneaking around to smoke a bowl.

Lived out near Boys Town. I had to go close to downtown to pick up one of my children at the wife's cousins. My car was completely snowed in so I walked about a mile to Dodge Street and started hitch hiking. Eventually I picked up my 3 year old son. Returning to the house and holding my son in my arms I was able to get 5-6 rides west as everyone helped. Finally made it home but that was one hell of a storm.

Had a snow storm here in Denver back in 2003 in late March, that sucked as it dumped 30 inches at my house. Was supposed to go to Maui but didn't get out, had to go in August of that summer.
