OT Outlook won't download gmail

Mrs. HW and I both have our own laptops. Both run licensed versions of Office 2021. Both computers use Outlook to download and manage two gmail accounts each. Starting after March 16th my computer downloads emails from one gmail account, but does not from the other account and generates a 0x800CCC0E cannot sync error when trying to download emails from that account. Wife's computer, downloads email from one of her personal gmail accounts, but not the other. There is nothing special or similar about her two or my two gmail accounts - just normal gmail accounts. I spent 5 hours last night trying every suggestion offered on line to get rid of the sync error. Is it possible Office 2021 is now "so old" it is having trouble working with gmail due to security features?

Oh, and BTW, if the Cornhuskers play street brawl defense like yesterday, they have a real chance against Vandy.

I am going to assume you have yelled at it and maybe hit it...

After that...did you try turning it off and then back on?

Do you have a kid or anyone under the age of 30 or anyone that isn't married? More than likely, they can fix it for you.

Time for an m365 sub OP
I'm retired on a fixed income. Do I subscribe to yet another annual computer software program and eat dog food a couple times a week, or continue to try to make a "lifetime" program I purchased five years ago work?

I was obliged to buy a new cell phone a couple months ago because my 2018 model was "too old" to be updated to run "modern" aps. I told the young punk at the phone store I have an Oldsmobile that is 56 years old and it isn't "too old" to run just fine. I went on to tell him if the Iranians explode a nuke over the USA causing EMP, my Oldsmobile will be the only vehicle running because it has no transistors or ICs. He looked at me as if I were demented and repeated my 2018 phone was too old.

It’s a fair question

Unfortunately, we live in a world where everything is disposable. Sorry to shock you. MS ended support for Windows 10. Guess what? If you don't own a PC that has a motherboard or processor capable of running Windows 11 you will forever be stuck with a potato unless you buy a new PC. I wouldn't be surprised if this is what they did with your Office product. It also wouldn't surprise that you have 37 e-mails about this exact situation that you never read.

I'd not use outlok for personal use. Always causing headaches.

have you tried the steps listed in the above link?
Lots of ideas here..Thanks! I'll work through them, but stop short of fooling around with the registry. I had a disaster with than some years back.

That Iran comment cracks me up. JFC.

I fixed it. One of the recommendations in your list was to update Microsoft Office. I have the "Automatically install updates" box checked in the Office account settings so I figured when Microsoft updated Office, mine would update. But I went ahead and asked it to look for and install updates and sure enough it went through a 20-minute update process and when done and I opened Outlook it took me to an app menu that asked me if I wanted Google apps to be able to read, write, etc. to Office and I said yes. Outlook now downloads gmail from both accounts. So I guess the auto update feature doesn't work, at least on our computers.

Unfortunately my 1993 Harley has an electronic ignition so will be fried by EMP. Maybe I should convert it to a points ignition.

The trick with registry is to just make a backup before you start.

But part of my job involves messing with registries on a daily basis.

Glad you got it. I still maintain outlook sucks. This comes from years of fixing problems and using it at work, lol.

That comment on Iran, I thought you were joking. Iran can't shoot a missile within half the distance to the U.S.
I was joking, as I was about converting my Harley to points. I'm sure that could be done somehow, but would be very difficult.

That being said, causing a widespread EMI event doesn't require an ICBM. The device could be smuggled into the US and carried by a drone or private jet.
