Just finished last night and I have to say "Bravo!" Damn good series with plenty of twists and "holy $hits" along the way for me! Definite watch for those of you looking for something to last until kick off in a few weeks.

Hate that it was only ten episodes but will re-watch in mid January after college football is over.

My only disappointment was learning that it was actually filmed on a lake near Atlanta vs. the actual Ozarks. One of the things I loved about Bloodline was I felt the locations (Florida Keys) were an integral character to the show. It is in Ozark as well...but knowing it's fake takes a little of the shine off. Still a very good series.

Thanks for the heads up. Downloading now. I did not know there were seasons 2 & 3 of Bloodline. Thought there was just the one. Downloading those, as well.

Don't be too disappointed because there was at least some footage from the Lake of the Ozarks along with the Atlanta area lake.

Insane. I didn't think I could be shocked. Wow. Watched 3 eps so far. Not sure the wife is going to make it for much longer. It's tough avoiding spoilers. Want to talk about it soooo much. :p

I used to get into shows like this, but now they are just too dark for me. Stranger things took my 6 months to watch because it was just too much for me. I get into shows like "The Ranch" as life is dark enough, I need a little humor. Just me.

There will never be another anti-hero themed show as good as Breaking Bad. I watched the first 10 episodes of Ozark, and although it was pretty good, and have always really liked Jason Bateman because of Arrested Development, it just doesn't have near the humor or intrigue that Breaking Bad had. And BB had so many great characters (WW, Jesse, Tuco, Mike, Hank, Saul, Gus, etc..) When Mike died, I nearly wanted to cry. :D

JB just isn't very convincing as a corrupt character. Honestly, after BB, the standard is set awfully high; virtually unattainable. I'll still continue to watch next season, but it hasn't completely sold me yet. And...if you've never watched BB, you're missing out on the best drama series to ever grace the TV screen. It IS that good.

I can see the comparison to Breaking Bad for sure, but unlike Breaking Bad this only has 10 episodes so far (I just finished Episode 6). There is a darker vibe to this than in Breaking Bad, but the twists and turns are absolutely great and have kept me interested.

Hell half the people you said were great characters in BB didn't show up until later seasons Tuco, Saul, Gus and Mike

They are just now breaking in the characters, and I like what I am seeing right now. Tons of potential to be the next big show

To me the writing just isn't nearly as good in Ozark as it was in BB. And BB made you laugh as much as it had you anxiously sitting on the edge of your seat.

I believe Tuco came in late in season 1. And Hank was there from the start. Didn't Saul come in somewhere in the 2nd season too. I think Gus and Mike came in in S3.

Breaking Bad is the pinnacle.
It's mind boggling how every episode had a surprise, that surprise always fit and never seemed like a reach, and it kept you wanting to watch the next episode right away. Every episode after the first half season did that, and there were a lot of episodes.
Ozark can't live up to BB but nothing ever will.

Exactly. BB just never felt contrived to me, because it's script was so well written. I've felt that on a few occasions Ozark was a bit contrived.

Agree, but they captured the feel of Lake of the Ozarks pretty well.

Breaking Bad, while it was an awesome series, it was not untouchable. I don't measure everything to it. Ozark is off to a good start. I love Bloodline as well. We're in season 2 of that series now.
