You won't find it cheaper than that. The hype is reality. Best bourbon I've ever had and the 2nd is not even close.
Ugh, yeah people with more money than sense are paying up to $800 a bottle for the 20 yr. I'll agree that it is good, but if you look around, you can find bourbon that is pretty close to as good for suggested retail. I have a couple bottles of Jefferson presidential that came from the same barrels as the pappys and those were right around $100 each. Problem is, you can't find those anymore either.
We got on the pappy's bus before everyone else did and were buying it for around $90 a bottle (20yr). It has always been hens teeth, but that was only b/c there is very little produced. Up until about three years ago, if you knew when and where to look, you could find it no problem. We have a pretty decent stash of it and if I had my way, I would sell every bit of it, but the S.O. won't sell (just my luck, a woman won't sell bourbon at 9 times what she paid for it).
