Yes, I mentioned it in another thread. Saturday games are both NBC and the second game will be the first NFL to be exclusively live streamed on Peacock.

I have no interest in NFL games even without the streaming hoops to jump through.
Tons of guys are always injured and the play is mediocre.
Refs are deciding games that are choked-up with endless stupid/loud commercials and replay timeouts.
I just skip a lot of games now and watch the extended highlights online.
A football game really boils down to a few plays and isn't worth the 3.5 hours of vegetating anymore.
Games used to have pacing and tensions and now they are drawn-out montages of stitched clips.
Peacock lol.

The game will be available on network channels in Kansas City and Miami. The rest of the country needs Peacock. They did the same thing with the Giants-49ers game in September. It was a Peacock "exclusive" but Fox5 in New York carried the game

Bill Simmons said NBC/Peacock paid $250 million to the NFL to stream this game. Folks in KC and Miami will get the game showed on a local channel.

I wonder what the vote was, by the owners, on whether to allow a playoff game to be streamed for $7.8M per team. I would guess that there might have been a few no's from maybe the Rooney family and John Mara, but I bet this passed with flying colors. Now it is really a shame that most of us won't get to see Taylor Swift every 30 seconds Saturday night, but we will survive.

Streaming on Peacock is just another glaring example of corporate greed. I'll never use it.

Agreed.
Big Ten and Rutgers should give back money and remove all games from "streaming subscription services".

Actually, they should give back all the media money.
Games on ESPN or BTN or Fox Sports ("cable subscription services") is just another glaring example of corporate greed.
Air the games for free on broadcast channels.

Right, guys???

It's really obnoxious that RU games are on Peacock only. It's not like our cable bill will be lower. Just another pass-through to the consumer. The streamer-only broadcast for a NFL playoff game is just as egregious. Thankfully, my wife got some bundle deal where we have peacock free for six months. Otherwise I'd just pass on these games out of principle.

The greed will never end and only continue by the NFL because they feel they have a captive audience. Look at MLB and the BS they do now with games on Apple TV, Peacock and even the Yankees selling a game package to Amazon Prime. It's only going to get worse until consumers say no more, which unfortunately doesn't look to be any time soon.
Personally I have Peacock for WWE stuff, but it's the only streaming service I have. I also unfortunately am a Dolphins fan for 40 years, and with the team collapsing the way it has, it looks like the year 2000 will remain as their last playoff win as the streak of suck continues.

Who is organizing the complaint email to AD Hobbs, HC Schiano. HC Pikiell and the Big Ten leadership over this?

I mean it's their greed that everyone is upset over.

Maybe we should leave the "greedy Big Ten" since our games are on various cable and streaming subscription services - that all require various hoops to jump through and extra money spent.

How do we get games on local public access channels for free so fans don't have to fund this "greed"?

I think there's a balance between money and reach/exposure. Just like many other businesses, they will push the line and see how far they can go. But you can only figure it out by testing it out and that's what they're doing.

Dear god the whining is laughable. If you’re that cheap don’t watch. I dumped Verizon 2 years ago and have U tube tv, peacock, prime & Netflix. My bill is still less than before. Not to mention I stream the Outlaws and have Flo racing.

Peacock will be getting more and more B1G content as the contract goes on.

My issue with Peacock is less about the cost but more the user interface. With YouTube TV, if I'm watching something that I recorded, I can use the remote to fast forward in 15 second increments. So, for example, if I want to skip forward during a timeout, just fast forward exactly 15 or 30 seconds. It works great. But if I'm on Peacock and try to do the same thing, the slowest fast forward setting is way too fast and its not measured. The amount of time you spend trying to get 30 seconds ahead takes longer than if you just sat there for 30 seconds. Anybody else dealing with this? I tried googling it but didn't find any solution.

This. You have people complaining to all end about $6 a month but pay a $300 cable bill for the Knitting Channel and have no problem with that.

Get CBS (Paramount+), Fox (Hulu), NBC (Peacock) & ABC (ESPN+Disney+ bundle) and Amazon prime and your total cost will be like $50 bucks a month. Anyone not streaming or on YouTube TV by now AND still has a cable package is literally burning money

When we were added to the B1G everyone on the east coast had their cable bill go up by a few bucks. Between that, the SEC network, the NFL network, MLB, NBA, NHL and premium movie channel add one the cable companies found ways to jack your bill up to over $100 a month. Did anyone actually think that would change when it all went to streaming?

Sure it was cheaper in the beginning, but inevitably these networks were going to find a way to get their extra few bucks out of you again. The difference is now they’ve fragmented everything out into their own separate streaming apps so they can get their cash directly from you without the cable company as a middle man. To get it all you’re right back up to $100 a month.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Iptv. $50-100/year, every channel in the world, including pay preview, nfl/mlb package, etc. That’s the way to stick it to the man. I’ll be watching the local KC broadcast Saturday night from California just as I was watching local Philly news this morning to check on the weather.

If true, it's a loss leader to force people on to Peacock. No way the revenue Peacock will receive will exceed $250 million.

100% same issue. Love games on streaming.
I watched last night's game on replay.
Couple of UI issues as you raised - the fact forwarding is wonky.
I also didn't account for no commercials during halftime and blew into the 2nd half.

Also the pregame was on the replay so I had to fast forward to the game and it wasn't too clear when it started.

Which one do you have? I pay 35 per month for my 3 sets. Do you get a lot of buffering?

These valuations confuse me. I get the NFL will take the money, but they will lose 50-75% of viewership in the process while NBC overpays for I’m not sure what…a marginal increase in subscriptions? most of which will be cancelled after the season ends.

I’m not sure how this can be seen as good for business for all parties involved. I just listen to the radio broadcast of RU games on the Cock.

Right, guys???
Here's your choices.
Go back to the early 80s and if we were lucky to get one game on a year.

Or today where you can watch every game live?
Complaints about today's TV viewing options make me laugh.

I have iptv Smarters. Some buffering issues here and there, mostly with RedZone. I switched to the UK feed and it’s perfect. I’ve also found that if I pause my son’s Xbox, the buffering issues go away. I’m paying $50 per year.
