Tiger and Phil are paired together, and they are both 1 shot off the lead through 5. Phil has thrown a few birdies in on the front nine while Tiger has missed a few birdies on the greens. I thought some of you golfers may be interested. It is setting up for a nice Sunday finish.

Phil destroyed Tiger on the first nine. Phil shoots 31 to take the lead and Tiger shoots a 38.

CBS's brilliant scheduling of basketball games had golf coming on about 25 minutes late, so we missed close to an hour. No reason the Golf Channel couldn't continue coverage up until CBS was ready to take over.

Tiger is not playing well at all today. And Phil is on fire at the moment.

I also enjoyed seeing Phil take Tiger to the woodshed. Tiger would probably play better if he gave Neil Armstrong his shoes back.

of spikeless golf shoes. They have rubber nubs on them for grip, but not steel or plastic spikes. I think Fred went to them for comfort other than specific medical problems. Not sure why Tiger did but some regular golf shoes just aren't all that pleasant to wear.<div>
</div><div>Tiger might use them to force himself to slow his swing speed. If he over-swings, he slips in these shoes.</div>

Golf uses a ball; NASCAR doesn't ....<div>
</div><div>Actually, in my mind a sport is something that people can participate in on an organized or unorganized basis, like baseball, football, swimming, hunting, and such. You can't just go out and race your car around in a circle or otherwise (legally) without some degree of organization and control. Therefore, in my mind, NASCAR is not a sport. But then, I don't care for NASCAR so I'm biased. They're no more a stock car than an Indy racer is. I suppose they were at one time.</div>
