OT: Prine in Memphis

the hotel is one of the more famous/historical in the south and the voux has the best ribs I've ever had.. especially if you like the dry rub style... the restaurant is always on t.v. when watching bbq shows...

plus their pulled pork is outstanding, as is their sauce and dry rub. If you just want the best Q you go to Interstate, if you want a great time you go to Rendezvous.
and yes..you can't beat the rendevoux's atmosphere.. as with any bbq joint, the quality can vary from time to time..

Yes he did pass away a couple of years ago. The ribs have not been the same since. They are still fall off the bone tender, but something is missing. I used to be a die hard Blues City rib guy, but now I'm looking for a new place. Rendezvous is hit or miss. Some nights they're great and some nights they are too tough. I don't like Interstate's ribs although their pork sandwiches are awesome. Central and Tom's are 2 places I'm trying the ribs next.
There's also a MSU alum that has a bbq joint on Hwy 51 betweeen Nesbit and Southaven. That place is pretty good.

But I do know thd times I have gone I have loved their ribs. I love everything I have ever gotten at tom's, but I haven't tried their ribs. Might have to soon

Downtown has some good places to eat and you can walk to them all whether you stay at the Madion, Peabody, Hampton, or Westin.Circa, Flight, McEwan's are all very goodand the Majestic isn't bad either, its alittle more economical. Of course if you want to drop some cash go to FeliciaSuzzane's, someone mentioned Spindini, although its good it isn't what it once was.

2. Eat at one of ($30/plate):

3. Do tourist B.S. on Beale until around 11:00
4. Go to Rayford's until 2:00 or 3:00 (the original is closed I think, but there is a new one on 2nd or 3rd)
5. Go to Ernestine and Hazel's for soul burgers late night
6. Pretend you are dead until the hotel makes you leave

And you don't have to stay there to enjoy that. The rooms suck. Stay at the Doubletree across the street. And walk across and enjoy the lobby bar, the ducks, etc.
entertainment district or something like that. It was five or six years ago they started closing earlier. Occasionally the may stay open later but rarely. Or at least that's how it was two years ago when i left.

Madison is nice, but a little walk to Fed-ex. Great obervation deck on top floor.
Bluefin for Sushi is da bomb..
Rendezous can't be beat for BBQ if downtown
Texas de Brazil for steak
Itta Bena in BB's is good too.
Flying Sauicer for all the beer you can imagine on tap.
