so, back when i was a undergrad at state, my best friends brother played for the stetson hatters baseball team. well, one weekend, he and a friend "cj", came up to stay at my apt for the weekend. we took them to mexico tipico and later, we went out to a house party or something and showed em a good time. they spent the weekend with us and went back to stetson.....fast forward from 2002 or 2003 (cant remember, but somewhere in there) to now....it turns out, my best friends brothers friend is chris johnson that plays 3rd base for the braves. considering the fact that we took care of him way back when, would it be kosher for me to ask for tickets or an autograph or something via text? i dont have his number, but my friends brother could give it to me. it would be pretty cool to bring home an autograph for my 3 year old. what say ye? kosher or no.

I'd go for it. Hell, now that you've told me the story I might claim that I took him out to Mexico Tipico 10 years ago and would love to see him at a Braves game with my fam.

I wouldn't text him. I'd have your friend who's friends with him text him. I could see him getting really pissed about having his number passed around or numbers he doesn't recognize calling him.

But I don't think it would be wrong to have him ask for that stuff or whatever for you. Most players enjoy meeting adoring fans and what not and you met him when his career was just taking off... so he'll probably really appreciate you actually remembering "CJ". Tell us how it goes.
