Jackson is already a **** town and that's the bottom line. He will not mean a hill of beans. How many murders this year? How many break in's this year? How many shoot outs this year? Just drive around Jackson and look.

Why are they so afraid of this man?LightninInside said:He seems to be a free thinking outside the box type politician who isn't afraid to buck the system to make things better. Being away from Jackson for a couple years now, I'm sure this is a dumb question, but if you had to boil it all down what is the biggest concern with him? Jackson has been in financial trouble for a long time and I didn't see it getting any better. Now might be a time to make a change?

If this would be your first order of business. He has said on record that he doesn't think downtown is where the Jackson needs to spending money. He wants to pump money into South and West Jackson. Downtown Jackson is doomed if he gets elected.LightninInside said:I thought Frank Melton was a pretty good mayor for Jackson. He was kicking in doors and burning down crackhouses trying to get things cleaned up. He did it outside the constraints of the law, but he got it done. He was pretty conservative for a democrat and encouraged self sufficiency.
Lumumba seems to be more liberal than Frank Melton for sure.
I was just wondering why all the backlash. I did a little research to see if anything horrible stood out, asked you guys about it and still don't really understand what all the dislike is about.

Of course when one your candidates for mayor associates Hugo Chavez and Castro with freedom and sound economics, more than downtown will be doomed if he gets elected.
